Compared to other mini golf courses in Springfield, the themes of the holes were pretty creative and big. However, most of the cool structures and monuments weren’t even on the green. The green(what you putt on) structure was one of the most basic I’ve seen. The hole was straight in front of you almost every time. I mean there was a little slope here and there, but there wasn’t any windy bends or creative movements to the green. Competitors such as, Fun Acre, have much better movement to their greens. At Fun Acre the cool structures are actually on the green and you get to hit through and around them. At Getaway, it’s like flat green + a big rock in the middle over and over again. Now, let’s talk about this price. $10.50 just to hit a ball straight towards the whole every time, on every hole? I can set up a cup on my dorm floor and hit a ball towards it for free. Then again, I guess I don’t get too look at the St. Louis Arch or the Statue of Liberty im the middle of a watering hole.
Overall, the course as a whole is not worth the money. If I where you I would go to a different, cheaper course with a bit more creativity in the structure of...
Read moreVisited Getaway Golf with my husband and two friends on a Tuesday during a holiday promotion ($2 off Tuesdays + 10% off). I’m happy we saved the extra cash because it is regularly pricier than other mini golf courses in town at around $10/adult. We arrived just before 9pm and took on the American course (18 holes). We all really enjoyed the theming and felt the difficulty level was okay, considering the trickiness of the courses was more in varying slopes than obstacles. While we were warned lights go out at 10, we didn’t anticipate how long it would take us to get through the course and found ourselves with a 5-minute warning on hole 14 and lights black at hole 18 (after we sped through the previous 3 holes). So, anticipate spending hour if you’re going with 4 people (who move at casual speed).
Again, the cleanliness, maintenance, and theming were all good and made the night feel special for a double date with friends. Recommended, but only when you’re taking advantage...
Read moreIf you're looking for a fun time for the whole family look no further than GETAWAY GOLF. This is such a wonderfully laid out concept from the 36 holes of Putt Putt, one being an International themed course and the other being an American Historical attractions experience. Each hole offers a tid bit of educational information explaining the landmark or historical significance of each hole. Fun for all ages, from the snow cones for the kids to the great cocktails and beer selections for the adults. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager Caden. who was amazingly inviting and knowledgeable of the menu and course. He politely and professionally catered and suggested an experience for our first time visiting that didn't disappoint. Empecable customer service from start to finish. I Highly recommend you making time to come play and enjoy a getaway at Getaway Golf...
