NEW 2000 NAILS | Nail Salon in Montclair NJ — Attraction in Montclair

If I could give this nail salon LESS than one star, I would. The service was okay but, the work from the nail tech, May, was horrendous.

I first asked the woman at the front desk, “do any of your manicurists know how to do intricate designs? In other words, are they nail designers?”, she said yes. I also said that I wanted Apres Gel-X which last about 3-5 weeks. I showed May the design I wanted (I’ll attach) and she said yes, she can do it. Low and behold, she couldn’t so I compromised and allowed her to turn it into a simple chrome design which was mediocre at best. I’ve had chrome nails that were so pristine, it looked like a mirror! So these were meh but, I let it be.

I got these nails done for my birthday. I got my nails done on Feb 2nd, my birthday was Feb 4th and I went to Mexico on Feb 7th. But Feb 9th, EVERY SINGLE NAIL was lifting off and getting hooked onto my clothes and hair; all 10 fingers. By Feb 10th, one nail popped off while on vacation. Before you say “oh you were in the water on the beach”, 1) freshly done nails should last on beach vacations and 2) I didn’t step foot in the water until Feb 11th.

I went back to the nail salon on Feb 14th after I landed back from Mexico on Feb 12th to show them and ask for a refund. They refused to give me a refund after the proof I showed and explained how it messed up my mood for my birthday vacation.

They did eventually agreed that it was their fault and offered to remove my nails for free and give me a new set. However, why would I entrust them to put on another full set when the first set was actually GARBAGE?

I politely let them remove the HORRID set and left with my bare nails. I will not trust them to do my nails and ever again, even the simplest manicure.

The part that TRULY upsets me to write this review is that that I asked for extensions and they couldn’t even secure them properly. If the designs were crappy, that would be one thing but, the actually functionality of the nails were HORRIBLE and falling off after in less than a week. That’s POOR nail tech work. That’s why I think I deserved a refund.

So, instead of them giving me a refund since I paid $100+, here is NEGATIVE 5 (-5) star review 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

I’ve been getting my nails done since I was 14. 14+ years and never in my life of having my nails done have I had such a horrendous experience. The atmosphere and ambience is pleasant nevertheless not the service. I went there to celebrate a birthday and what I got was a bill of regret all around. The individual assign to do my nails didn’t speak English nor did she try to understand what I was telling her rather dismiss my attempt to explain to her that I wasn’t satisfied with what she was doing to my nails and then they had the nerve to charge me $60 for a regular manicure and pedicure with clear nail polish. My nails were filed in such a manner that when they grow back they’ll practically be growing into my skin. I had to basically do my own nails over when I got home. This establishment was a disappointment. Definitely not worth the price I end up paying. That price being my time that I can never get back, the damage done to my cuticles & my nails that I will have to deal with when they grow back in addition the hard earned money that one just does not come by walking down the street. Never again nor would I refer this location. I’m troubled by the fact that it seems like I’m the only person who has a bad review for this...

I have been getting a gel manicure at the same salon for years with no problem. For the last 2 months the gel had been lifting and not even lasting a week so I decided to try a new salon. This is my first experience at this nail salon. I had a pedicure and dip powder manicure. The pedicure was super rushed. My nails were polished decently, however there was zero massage. I have never gone to any nail salon for a pedicure and had no massage. I also had a dip powder manicure done. This is 8 days later. For $70 and a manicure that is supposed to last 3-4 this is unacceptable. The salon was very busy when I went. I had an appointment and did not wait for my pedicure to start, but it was definitely rushed and not relaxing at all. It seems like they take on more customers than they can handle at one time to make more money. I overheard what seemed to be regular customers complaining to each other that “this always happens” (meaning a wait time). If I have an appointment I do not expect to be rushed. Overall this was a disappointing experience and I will not return. I debated even writing this review, but for the amount of money I spent (almost $100) I don’t want other people having the...
