Cascades Park has been a part of Monterey Park for so long that its city logo is even based off of it. Even though years go by and the city itself undergoes changes, this park still stands as it decades ago and is definitely a great place to stop and rest while taking in the city view from up top.
You can find many stairs sloped in a way that'll be a fun and quick challenge to go through in order to reach the top, parking at the base as well as up on the hill which would require you to go through side streets first, and that beautiful mini waterfall that lights up during the night.

Read moreGreat Spot to take a date at night to enjoy the waterfall river or howwver its called. This park has a flat land were im sure its more like a visual piece rather than a place to hang out in. But the other part is across the street from it. That's were the waterfall river is at. In day, it's very fresh, green, vibrant. Lots of local Chinese people walk around there. It gets more packed on the afternoon. People walk their dogs, run up the staircase and back down, people picknick there, or enjoy the view at the parks upper level. Read moreThe waterfall in Monterey Park is a nice place for rest and relaxation. The flights of wide short staircases make for a wonderful view of the city hills and the San Gabriel basin. If you like stair climbing for exercise these are exceptional.
The waterfall at night lights up in rainbow colors with rainbow lights. It's a nice sight at sunset. The city could improve this lightshow a bit as it feels very cheap. The other downfall of this park is the bugs .. mosquitos at night and bees during the day.
