Serenity Spa — Attraction in Monterey Park

I’ve been here three times and unfortunately the quality is very inconsistent. For context I had been getting regular massages every year for 6 years. The first time here was great but the second two times were atrocious. The second time I had a male masseuse who made me feel sexually assaulted. He was touching me very inappropriately multiple times. I was in shock in the moment but didn’t say anything and feel that I should have reported him. I didn’t ask for the name but I remember he is bald. The third time, I asked for a female masseuse just to be safe and she was also untrained and unprofessional. She was massaging me in a very weird way, like rolling really hard on my shoulder blade or hitting my bones. She almost burned me with the hot stone. I kept giving her instructions the whole time hoping she’d get better. When she gave me a scalp massage she ended it by grabbing and pulling my hair, a move no masseuse has never made. It felt like I was in a cat fight. Immediately after my shoulder and back were stiff and in pain. My shoulder felt slightly dislocated. My arm was numbed after. It’s horrible to be honest. Pros:

Full body massage for $50 is a great deal so tip well! You pay $2 for the card payment convenience. The massage is done professionally, and she takes her time to get deep into the tissue.

The hot stones are a plus and she covers your entire body without rushing. They clean off the oil and leave you better than when you arrived. The therapists are small ladies but strong enough to handle big guys like me.

Parking is available in the back and private rooms are available. They take all payment methods including 🍎 pay.

And they always end you with some freshwater or a nice cup of hot tea.

Cons:

It might get a little noisy here and there because they do get busy, but it’s no biggie. They don’t...

Came here with a friend and my daughter and loved it! My daughter was so relaxed that she fell into a deep sleep (it took myself, her masseuse, and my masseuse to flip her over). I wish I knew my daughter's masseuse's name to give her credit for my daughter's wonderful sleep that night. She appreciated that!

I suffer from a lot of pain in general and Lucy, my masseuse for this session, was wonderful. She was kind as a person and hit all my problem areas. I was in a lot less pain and able to sleep well that night too! I will definitely be coming back!
