What a helpful staff. Sadly, we arrived on a day when they were closed, but as we were wandering around the outside of the building, one of the volunteers saw us from across the street and opened the museum for us. It was a great experience to learn more about my ancestor Isaiah Scammon, one of the pioneer founders of the town. We got a personalized guided tour, she answered all our questions and she looked thru the collection to find materials about Isaiah and his associates. My highest recommendations. They have an interesting collection of woven hair memorial plaques from back in the pioneer times. A little creepy but...
