Google says this is a 2-star hotel. I concur and by that I mean, if you measure it against a place like a super luxury hotel (aka Claremont/Ritz Carlton), it’s 2-star; it’s a motel with basic amenities. I will say, the room was large, the bed was comfy and the service staff were super sweet. The bathroom was also pretty large and we had two queen beds (3 star- maybe). These are the pluses, which should not be taken for granted. However, there’s very little noise insulation. For instance, the folks above us were just living their lives (nothing special) and we could hear their conversations, AND when they walked around (1 star). There is a breakfast buffet. The options included a make your own waffles, sausage, hard scrambled eggs, biscuits with pork flavored gravy, plain instant oatmeal, cereal (fruit loops or Frosted Flakes), and assortment of white flour muffins and toast. They also had OJ, milk, and coffee. While this is great, basically I could only have the oatmeal, OJ and coffee. This was the meh. Tbh, I am a bit of a coffee snob, so that coffee wasn’t working for me. I suppose they don’t get a lot of takers of what I consider healthier options, so perhaps this was a practical choice with the sections, but it was a solid 2+ star hotel choice. There were assorted places throughout the room where, I was like what happened here? They only had towel service for two, we were three. I know we could have called the front desk, and the sweet staff would have been on it immediately, but we were tired - and it was late when we got in, so we just made due. The towels we did have, were thin, and to add additional insult, there was a threatening sign saying they charge $25 for missing or stained towels. No one should steal, and yet, who would want those things towels? And, frankly, there were assorted stains everywhere- the sheets, the tub, the blanket, the floors… why not attend to your own stuff first? Take the signs down, it’s just insulting. Finally, I’m not sure who was cleaning our room, but there was straight up dirt in the fridge, on the counter near there, floor and sink in the kitchen area. And that was the bad. I think this place overall is great if you need a low frills place in the area- say you are fishing or are going to Olympic National Park. However, don’t mistake it for an actual 4 star hotel. It is a nice 2-3 star...
Read moreWhen I initially booked, it was for a 2nd floor room. However, I emailed them and not even kidding within 2 minutes, I received a email back, saying they changed our room to a downstairs room! Mind you, this was a completely full hotel! Also, we had 2 support dogs with us and they didn't even want to see the dogs paperwork we had! They accommodated them! Also, they had a unleash dog park they told us about directly across the street! The rooms are huge! In fact, spotless, smelled wonderful upon arrival , they provided a dining table, microwave, larger size refrigerator, kitchen counter with a sink! The bathroom had a shower and bathtub, with plenty of storage and really good quality toiletries are provided! We slept so hard and woke up refreshed because the beds are so comfortable and you can walk around both sides of the two beds! Extra blankets were in the room when we arrived as well! Nice large smart tv with a ton of channels! Each time we we went in and out of our room, both of our keys worked and we never had an issue in which we had to go to the office to fix them! I have stayed at a lot of hotels and for the first time, I didn't get locked out because of the key cards! When we checked in, my debit card was only charged $25 for a deposit! Because, normally I have been charged $200 for a deposit on my debit! In which, you don't get back for 7 to 10 business days after checking out! Therefore, we had more money towards our vacation! Every single time I went to the office, I was greeting and given a big smile and if I had a question, they provided me with really good ideas and information about the area! Also, coffee is always ready, no matter what time of day or night! Anything, we needed, the staff went above and beyond for us! Hands down, AWESOME breakfast! The counters were always kept clean and stocked! Good food! Especially, the biscuits and gravy! The parking lot was very well taken care of and clean! It is very quiet and no rift raft here! Great value for the money! This is the only place, I will stay at on the coast! Thank you so much and we will be back! Hands down, best hotel...
Read moreI was impressed with the size of the room. There was plenty of space for my yoga mat. The room was clean and kept that way. The staff were pleasant and helpful, both the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff. The bed was very comfortable and positioned right to view the good sized tv. We liked the little table with two chairs instead of a couch/overstuffed chair and desk for a computer. Breakfast was very good with eggs and sausage, biscuits and gravy, an assortment of bread products, cereal, and fruit. Nice job for a smaller motel. Because it is an older place, the windows could be opened for me that's a plus.|The GuestHouse is also within walking distance of several restaurants and a small shopping center, the location in that respect was was good. There were also some shops on the ground floor of the GuestHouse. | There were some drawbacks to the place. No coffee pot in the room, though there was coffee in the office. It's not a problem to go to the office to get coffee in the summer, but the winter might be a different story. Since this establishment is right off of a busy highway and shares space with a gas station, it did get loud at times when there were motorcycles refueling. Also there was no elevator to the second floor. | Would I go back, probably. We were in Montesano for my 60th HS class reunion, so there's a good chance I will visit Montesano again as I have...
