I was so excited to bring the family in after this place opened back up. The Beehive used to be a great diner to go and take the family for a meal. Unfortunately it was a pretty not so great experience that I hope others can avoid.
Hygiene and sanitation: The cooks were wiping their nose with bear hands then handling the food. Never saw the cooks wash hands no matter what they touched before touching food. The spot where the wait staff made the salads was left uncovered and again unwashed bear hands were used to make the salads. I never saw a table get wiped with more than a dry towel between diners. The only person to wash their hands was a younger guy with glasses, likely high school, who was on his first day.
Food: Somehow the prime rib was at the same time bloody and dry (how?!). The horseradish that came with the prime rib was watery and barely have flavor. We had to ask for au ju. My kiddo who normally is a lover of all things fish and chips wouldn’t eat the fish because the taste and smell was pretty rank.
Staff: Idk who the lady was that was behind the counter but not one person in the restaurant said hi or welcomed my party in. The same lady spent the time we were in there ignoring the customers and talking down the the staff. The staff are saints for working there with how she talks to them. Even if she’s the owner, not cool to talk to staff in a demeaning way, especially where customers can hear. Our waitress was the only bright spot. She was great and attentive.
Overall we won’t be back and advise others not to go. Maybe when these owners fail to keep the Beehive going I’ll be back to try again under new...
Read moreI ate there today, and as always, Jordyn and another waitress were just as rude as anyone could be. I asked Jordyn a question, and she bit my head off. In fact, a woman from another table witnessed how she treated me and, in the restroom, said that she thought that Jordyn was" kind of rude". Then later, on the bill I noticed that I was charged for a large o.j. when I had ordered and received a small. Jordyn ignores people so I couldn't get her attention even though I think she heard me trying to. Eventually another waitress stopped and I showed her my bill with the overcharge, and when she came back with the corrected bill, she threw it on the table as she went by and said "there you go" in a rude tone of voice. I left there ten hours ago and I am still kind of bumbed out about how rude Jordyn was today and ALWAYS is. The key word here is ALWAYS. I like a couple of things on the menu, but I think I am going to have to stay away from there from now on because it is just not worth it. If Jordyn and that other woman hate people THAT much, why don't they get into another line of work ????? Both of them clearly refuse to be even partially decent or friendly to anyone. If I were the owner of that place, I would fire both of them. I am NOT going in...
Read moreWe are new to the area and are trying out different restaurants. It wasn't very busy when we got there, there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. I ordered a patty melt. Definitely recommend it. The burger was so flavorful and juicy. The fries were not nearly as good. No flavor other than blah and the ketchup you would need for some flavor tasted funky. The service we received was very much less than stellar. Our server (I wish I could remember her name but she had a nose ring) made us feel rushed from the getgo and was not very friendly. It felt like we were an inconvenience. She checked on us one time towards the beginning of the meal. The only other time she came over to our table was halfway through the meal bringing the check and said you cash out with me. We were never asked if we wanted more to drink, even though cups were empty. Despite the food being decent, I don't think it's likely we will be back because of the service we received. I saw other tables who had a different server getting properly served and were having friendly interactions. It's very unfortunate we got the server we got because I love a good diner, but it would be nice if service was the same...
