Big Moon’s BBQ — Restaurant in Montesano

I have waited so long to come here because I'm flea brained and forget they're closed on Mondays. I regret not coming sooner.. I've lived all over, I've had southern bbq in almost every southern state and this is by far the best. The meat is tender and juicy, so many places end up dry and either over or under seasoned. This is perfect. Most places have bland or dry Mac and cheese, this stuff is a so good it makes mine seem sad; and I make amazing Mac and cheese that my family has tried to get the recipe for for years. They have the best baked beans I've ever had outside of my Tennessee daddy's home made beans. I'm afraid to try the banana pudding and go into a food coma from the insanely deliciousness. Ok I tried it; no food coma and I've had better but it's still better than most and better than any other restaurant. My husband said the pulled pork is his favorite and the best thing he's had at a bbq place. He doesn't like pork. At all. No matter how I make it or what I order, he doesn't even like bacon, only breakfast sausage. If you haven't tried it, don't wait, go now. Order double what you think you need from the sides, you will want leftovers. I've now eaten all the Mac and cheese and am sad I won't have leftovers of it or the beans. HOW IS THIS CHICKEN SO JUICY, I'm gonna have to have my husband take the food away, I won't stop eating till I can't move...

We had 3 brisket sandwiches 1 lg Mac n chz 1 med Cole slaw Cost : $68 plus $3.50 fee to get cash at ATM (cash only)

Staff Was friendly Restaurant lacks any character or ambiance.

The sandwich’s were not visually pleasing, and it wasn’t the tastiest brisket I have had (but brisket is good) and the portion was not substantial enough considering the price ($16)

The Mac n cheese tasted good, but again the portion for $12 was not a good value in my opinion

The coleslaw was decent, but nothing special and seems like nothing more than store bought slaw. ($8)

I was excited about the new restaurant and the “Texas/Tennessee BBQ” experience. Ultimately I will wait until it improves or the prices are adjusted to match the portions...

I love this place! The owner and his staff are kind, friendly and upbeat. You can tell they are committed to running a great eatery. Our food was provided to us quickly and in nice sized portions. Very nice layout, lots of space and very clean, with a warm and rustic feel. Two of us had pulled pork sandwiches and my son had a brisket sandwich. We shared sides of mac & cheese and beans. The meat was probably the best pulled pork I’ve had, the Mac & cheese was flavorful, moist and divine! The beans were very good, with that wonderful pork throughout. The bbq sauce is fantastic and a bottle is provided on your table. I cannot wait to return, looking forward to trying the greens on Sunday. I highly recommend a visit...
