So I took my daughter who is 5 to see Despicable Me 3 tonight. After paying $17.58 for tickets (1 adult n 1 5yo) and $14.40 for 1 large drink n 1 order of nachos we begin searching for our theatre. No one was at the door taking tickets or directing folks to the correct theatre so we asked a police officer who was working on behalf of the theatre and he pointed us into the wrong theatre. So after walking through both sides we ended up asking another employee that we walked past in hall and after a process of elimination he directed us to the correct theatre. WE sit down and get comfortable and the movie starts, after about 15 minutes I ask my daughter if the picture seems blurry to her and she agreed and she said she was ready to go home bc it was so bad it was ruining the experience for her (I had forgotten my glasses so the world was a blur for me regardless) on top of the blurriness the theatre was warm and terribly muggy (it felt very heavy with humidity and smelled very stale....im not exaggerating at all, I wish I was. So we end up getting up and stumbling through the dark so that we can let someone know. So I see nobody in the lobby other than concession cashiers and the same cop at the main entrance. I begin telling the officer and he laughs and tells me it's a 3d movie so we need glasses. He looks through some plastic drawers and only finds 1 pair of glasses and then tells me to go outside to the box office and SEE IF THEY HAVE ANY LEFT. SO WE WALK OUTSIDE AND THERE IS ONLY 1 CASHIER IN THE BOX OFFICE SO WE END UP HAVING TO WAIT IN LINE (Not for long, maybe 5 minutes) to get a 2nd pair of 3d glasses. WE then returned to the theatre which literally felt like a louisiana swamp in August and watched the remaining 45 minutes of the movie. No one bothered to adjust the temperature. It really bothers me because my daughter and I were looking fwd to this experience, and after paying almost $40 which I consider to be a premium to watch a movie, we ended up missing at least 30 minutes of the movie and when you are charged extra for a 3d movie so.eo e should give you the damn glasses right there when you pay. every single issue that led to a terrible experience falls direct to management. I will not return and my kids will not return to the festival plaza until obvious changes take plce.not that it means much to...
Read moreI recently visited this theater last Friday to watch the Mario movie, but unfortunately, the cleanliness of the facility left much to be desired. The floors were sticky, the seats had visible stains, and there was a lot of debris scattered throughout the theater. It was disappointing to be in such an unclean environment while trying to enjoy the movie.
However, one employee, Khyla, who was working at the concessions stand, stood out for her exceptional customer service. Khyla was quick, polite, and fun, which made the transaction a bit more enjoyable. She efficiently took my order and was extremely welcoming, even making some playful jokes and engaging in conversation. Her positive attitude was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise dreary experience.
Unfortunately, my positive experience with Khyla was somewhat dampened by some hairy white guy who seemed to be her boss. This guy was incredibly weird and pushy, fussing at Khyla for not trying to upsell me and make me buy things I didn't need. I was in a rush to get to the movie as it had just started, and Khyla was professional and efficient in taking my order. I did come back later to buy popcorn, but I wanted to have my son seated first, which seemed to irritate this guy.
If Khyla was fired for not "upselling" and trying to push unnecessary items onto customers, it would be a tremendous loss for the theater. She was a lot more welcoming and professional than whoever that man was, and I would gladly hire her back and give her his job. I cannot imagine how frustrated I would have been if I was in her position, and someone was fussing at me for doing my job and providing good customer service.
In conclusion, while the cleanliness of the theater left much to be desired, Khyla's exceptional customer service skills were a shining example of how things should be done. It is a shame that she was criticized by a pushy colleague, and I hope that her superiors will recognize her outstanding work ethic and...
Read moreMy family and I usually visit this theater because we enjoy the matinee and it's price. We visit this theater once or twice a month. But due to how rudely we were treated recently by the manager, we will NEVER return! I purchased several tickets because I arrived early and didn't want the tickets to be sold out. Before I purchased the tickets, I asked one of the cashiers were the tickets refundable if some of my family didn't show. She assured me that I would be granted a refund as long as it was done that day. So I purchased 10 tickets. All of my family came, except one person. I sent my cousin and my son out to keep an eye out for them, just in case they showed up. My son was approached by a woman who said she was the manager and she took his ticket without explaining why and gave him a pass. When he told me what happened, I really didn't understand, so after the movie was over, I asked to see a manager. She seemed hesitant to come out and talk to me and took about 15 minutes to do so. When she came out, she began yelling and screaming at me because I asked her why did she take my son's ticket. I just wanted an explanation. She apparently didn't feel she owed me one. I was furious at this point and asked for the corporate office number and her name. She told me I will be glad to get it for you. Minutes later, she came out with a business card with her information on it and another card or piece of paper rather with the number to the corporate office. This theater has really gone down. The bathrooms are always dirty and the theater could be a little cleaner too. The concession prices are ridiculous, and management as you can see from my experience is very unprofessional and poor. Shame Shame Shame. From now on, my family and I will be visiting the new theater on Chantilly. The staff is a lot nicer there and if you go between 4pm and 5:30 pm, you can watch any movie for 5.75. My not mean much to AMC but they will certainly not get our...
