Taco Mama's restaurant in Montgomery, Alabama is a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations with its vibrant flavors and delightful Mexican cuisine. As we embarked on our journey to Atlanta, we decided to make a pit stop and indulge in a lunch that would satisfy our cravings. Taco Mama's was the perfect choice.
The star of our meal was undoubtedly the burrito bowl. Packed with a mouthwatering veggie mix, cilantro lime rice, black beans, guacamole, jalapenos, grilled onions, corn, cilantro pico de gallo, queso, chipotle ranch, and cilantro lime vinaigrette, it was a medley of perfectly balanced flavors. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the combination of textures was simply divine.
Accompanying our burrito bowls were the chips and queso, which were addictive and had us reaching for more. The queso was velvety and rich, while the crispy chips added a satisfying crunch. To quench our thirst, we opted for a refreshing Jarritos drink, a Mexican classic, and the watermelon margarita, which was the epitome of summertime bliss. The margarita was perfectly balanced, with a subtle sweetness that complemented the tanginess of the watermelon.
The ambiance of Taco Mama's was vibrant and inviting, with friendly staff members who were eager to cater to our needs. The restaurant had a cozy and authentic Mexican feel, transporting us to a lively cantina south of the border.

Read moreMy family and I went to this restaurant to try it out and the scenery is nice and pleasant the staff were nice but the food was not like your ordinary Mexican restaurant. Food is way over priced for lack of flavor!! It was more like a Tex-mex which is fine but the food did not have much flavor at all. My mom had the chicken nachos the chips had too much salt on them but the chicken was tender and she got queso cheese but they hardly put any on her nachos, my brother and niece got the burrito and it was not good either, and I had the grilled fish tacos. I had to add hot sauce and everything to get a good flavor from my tacos. The Mac and cheese my brother had taste like boil pasta with no taste at all and the corn tasted like it came right out of the can with no seasoning. The guacamole was not good i make guacamole better then theirs. The only thing we enjoyed here was the margaritas. Oh ya I almost forgot they have only one stall for the bathroom so if it’s packed you will have to...

I highly recommend the Barbacoa burrito, the Big Client! Wow! Full of flavor and SO filling! The chips are the light and crispy kind, which are my personal favorite, their queso has flavor not just cheese. Their drinks are yummy; the Real Deal margarita is probably the best margarita I’ve ever had! The pomegranate margarita is also fabulous! I suggest adding the spicy salt rim to either!
The restaurant was clean, fun and festive. Every employee was kind, pleasant and gracious. They bring the food out quickly and with a smile!
This is definitely a local favorite, although we were working in the area, the local people we worked with are big fans! The assistant manager, Jeremey, was so welcoming he even gave us a coupon for our next visit! He definitely made sure we had a pleasant experience in the restaurant under his care. We made sure to return again before we left Montgomery.
