Ball fields are kept in decent shape, but the parking situation is terrible. It has gotten marginally better since they opened more gates, but it is still terrible. People park wherever they want, taking up multiple spots, or making their own spots. Many times blocking traffic. It has been this way over 10 years, and no matter how much I complain it never has been addressed. Weekend tournaments are so bad I refuse to attend anymore. The fields are leased to an athletic association that blames the city which in turn says that the lessee is responsible. It’s a city park. The lanes are no longer marked because the paint is so faded or not present. I have had people nearly run into me head on because they are driving in the wrong lane and they honk and yell at me likes it’s somehow my fault. In over 10 years I have seen exactly 1 person get a ticket for parking in the middle over the road. Not exactly traffic enforcement. Start writing tickets and see how fast people will get it corrected.
Update- MPD has finally started to enforce the parking issues of people blocking the road, but they still get the tag info and announce it every time, allowing people to go move their car, and even give them time to do so. Only a mild deterrent in my opinion. The park still has activities for most fields at the same time and parking has been packed in every lot. And one more gripe, baseball tournaments are pretty much guaranteed to be saturday AND sunday (even morning as early as 8 or 9). they can charge entry for each day, so i guess that makes sense if they want...
Read moreWhat a great park. It has something for everyone. Fields to play soccer or baseball. Walking trail, skate park, playground, and both tennis and basketball courts. It's been some time since my last visit to this park and they've done a wonderful job upgrading it. It has definitely grown with the city of Moore. Looks like they put in more to the parking area. When I was younger we'd come here for our fourth of July fireworks enjoyment. Seems they have kept the size of the fields relatively the same. Still lots of space to sit and enjoy that. My visit this time was with my dogs to give them a good run around after a long drive. It was drizzling and that definitely kept the park from being busier. I'm sure if the weather had been a little better Mom's in the neighborhood would have sent their kids here while preparing thanksgiving dinner in peace. It is a great park and I'm glad to see the city has invested more into it and taking good care of it....
Read moreGreat park with dog run Area, divided for small dogs or large. Small lake (pond?) with people fishing. Lots of trees for shade during the 105 degree days, water, restrooms, ball fields, and just pass the little bridge, there is a field usually full of plants, flowers, and succulents near the stream. If you look, you can find "Touch me nots" a fern like plans which folds up when touched. Mimosa pedicab is the name. Very nice people visit there, I once left my cellphone ( brand new, $1200 phone) at the park, and a lady brought it right to my door, telling me that as a fellow dog lover she knew I was a good person. Visit often with a handicapped dog using voice control and no leash, never a...
