Hands down the best Korean food you can eat! With that being said the waitress 12/12/14 at 4:45 PM was the rudest wait staff I have ever encountered in my 40 years being alive. She has been our waitress about the past 3 times we have been there and it has never been an overly pleasant experience but tonight she outdid herself. My husband and I and two TEENAGE BOYS, eat here at least twice a month and maybe order a take-out another time in any given month. We have been regulars at this restaraunt for the past 6 years because the food is so good. The times we had eaten there before she became a waitress there, when we ran out of a side we didn't even have to ask for more they would ask us if we wanted more. When my family requests more sides (very politely) she acts as if we are the fattest bunch of lazy Americans she has ever seen! Tonight she said, with a look of utter disgust on her face, "Really?, I gave you enough sides," which was one only of the initial set-up (and we never ask for more than 2 and then it's only for a few of the originals-usually kimchi and potatoes only). I think she knew she had crossed the customer service line after she said it, and if she didn't then she knew by the $2 tip we left her. On the way out of the restaraunt she pushed the blinds open to give us a dirty look (I guess for the lack of tip). When I got home I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager and she replied "they are not here." I asked if their was an e-mail they could be reached at and, drum roll please......SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE. Wow. So here I am writing a negative review on my family's favorite restaraunt, all because of one BAD, RUDE, waitress. Everyone is entitled to a bad day but she is 4 for 4 now. Sorry Dong A, we...
Read moreI just tried this place for the first time and did a take out order of pork bulgogi. There is another Korean restaurant in the OKC area that I absolutely love, so I will be comparing this restaurant to the other. Of course each restaurant is going to have their own family recipes and techniques for cooking, so I am taking that into consideration.
This restaurant's flavors were good. It was slightly spicier than the other place which I like but there wasnt much sweetness, so the flavor profile wasn't quite as well rounded as it could have been. The cuts of pork were good with just a few bites that were not. The cook was good, although I prefer the way the other restaurant uses a higher heat and sears the meat. The banchan was good: potatoes were great with a good quantity, sprouts very good, the pepper and tofu salad was incredibly spicy so I chose not to eat it although the bite of tofu I tried was tasty, and their kimchi is decent, but again comparing to my favorite place it just didn't have the full flavor and had a bit more spicy-ness instead. The other restaurant includes 2 more banchan with your meal, so they include potatoes, sprouts, cabbage, zucchini and kimchi, although in slightly smaller portions. I prefer the latter, although the sprouts were tastier at Dong A.
The restaurants first impressions when I went in to pick up my order was that of a friendly atmosphere, a clean dining area, and nice/polite staff. I did not use the restroom so I cannot tell you whether it was clean or not.
All in all, I would recommend this place and will return to try other menu items. Definitely a 4 out of 5 while being quite critical. Great...
Read moreService was terrible! Went there last night, and the first thing the waitress does is wave us in the general direction of an open table when we walk in. Doesn't say anything, just dismisses us to a table. She takes a solid 10 minutes to acknowledge our existence, take our drink and food order. We tried to order some sushi for a appetizer but our waitress says "It's too late for sushi, no sushi, we close at 9." It was 8:15. We order other food, which was good quality. The one thing that pissed me off to high heaven, was that another couple came in and ordered about 15 minutes after we did, and evidently they were related to our waitress as they did not pay at the end of the meal. I hope they were related, and that the following incident wasn't purely because the other customers were of asian decent. When my father-in-law and my food arrived, she brought it to the table, and returned to the kitchen to get what we thought was my wife's meal. She brings the food right past our table, and serves it to the table with her friends/family that came in 15 minutes after us, and it takes about another 15 minutes for my wife's food to arrive. SHE SERVED MY WIFE'S MEAL TO THAT OTHER TABLE, AND MADE MY WIFE WAIT ANOTHER 15 MINUTES WHILE THEY MADE ANOTHER. We had to sit and pick at our food to not feel bad about my wife having to wait while the other table ate her food. I will NEVER eat at this location again, and it will also be told to anyone that will listen as an example of TERRIBLE SERVICE. I LOVE Korean food, and I would rather never enjoy their food again because of the insulting...
