I spend a good deal of my time running through this park, it is part of my normal running route. One weekend in the summer they were hosting a revolutionary war reenactment. The historical part of the park is small. What I enjoy most is running through, seeing the occasional fisherman or photographer trying to catch that perfect fish or perfect amount of light coming off of Speedwell Lake. The waterfall and old structures are nice to look at but there is frequently litter on the unpaved trails and the lake becomes overgrown with algae in the peak summer season. Come here for a fall or winter stroll and it will be worth it, otherwise I would recommend checking out some of the other parks MCPC...
Read moreSpeedwell lake park is a very small and serene park in Morristown. It has this fall view and pathway for walking, jogging which goes through sort of jungle ! It has a limited parking space (cars) free of cost. It is more like a community park. If you plan to travel for an hour or so and visit this park, I would suggest you to pause. It is not a picnic place. Maximum you can walk for an hour and return back. But there is no specific picnic place. Just click the picture near this lake and enjoy peace. Haven’t seen any washroom...

The parking lot is unorganized and unmarked. This park has good potential, but serious investment is needed to make it like state park standard.
