Heartbreaking! At five past eight on a Friday night—shocked that near “home” every other place to duplicate documents was already closed— I called to see if the self-serve copy center was still open; Daniel was very helpful and said yes, they’re open till 9, too. Unfortunately, after almost 30 minutes of driving the “manager” (Ross? A tall/large man with kinky-curled hair and an accent) refused to allow us to PAY CASH for them to make us black and white copies. We had tried all the self-serve machines but they weren’t working, he explained “somehow our whole system is offline” and nothing connected to the card processing system anymore. (We couldn’t run the self-serve machines, but behind the counter machines could have been operated on our behalf and we would have gladly paid cash.) Honestly, we could have paid cash for everything: aside from the 60 copies we couldn’t make at home, we needed a case of paper and would have bought the sets of HP inks we need, if they had them in stock. My boyfriend sat at his desk for six hours today putting together these documents, and I want to get him a new office chair so he’s less grumpy when he gets done typing. There wasn’t much time to “shop” for it, but we both live by the “you know it when you see it” mentality and all we had to do was walk down that section to look for something that would suit us…. He was about livid that we couldn’t get the copies made, so we walked out without me even getting to walk by the...
Read moreI went in today after being advised by the court clerk (and other notaries) that Staples could assist me with getting a notary stamp and embosser. They all told me to go to the physical store and to bring my paperwork with me. When I walked in and asked at the print station, I was told this has to be done online. Ordering online isn't an issue for me, but the girl there was unnecessarily rude, which left me feeling like a nuisance for simply asking a question.
I understand retail isn't easy, and she probably deals with her share of difficult customers. But I wasn't one of them. I greeted her politely, asked respectfully, and expected a straightforward answer, not attitude. She was perfectly polite to the couple in front of me. The only difference between them and I is that they were clearly American and I am very obviously Hispanic. Do with that info what you will.
For anyone else looking, I did find more affordable notary supply options online and will be ordering elsewhere.
It may also help if Staples could let the court clerk know that this service isn't available in-store so new notaries don’t keep being referred there and waste their time...
Read moreI visited two times recently and will NOT be back. Only reason I went here was to return an online order, the first time I had to leave without doing the return because the lines were long, not moving and the employees acted like they didn't care how many people were waiting to be helped. The whole store feels dirty. All the stuff pilled up every where makes it feel more like a bargain basement store and not in a good way. You can't tell who employees are because they're wearing hoodies and not a work uniform. They also don't seem to know what they are doing. One lady had a print order that the store messed up, and the employee didn't explain what the problem was or even apologize. She kept calling on the radio for a manager, but got no response. When I left 15 minutes later they were still waiting for a manager. There was a long line at the cash register, another long line for printing, and the manager is no where to be found. Other employees see people waiting to be helped and they're laughing and goofing off in the back...
