Best Western Patriots Point — Hotel in Mount Pleasant

I stayed here back in March before I became a resident to South Carolina. I gave them 5 out of 5 stars because the stay was immaculate. The rooms were clean. I slept well. Everyone was very kind. I now live in Mount Pleasant and had an emergency at my home. The first thought I had was to come here..10 mons away and i loved it 2.5 months ago...PHEW- I am so upset to see how old bad it's gotten in two months. The first room I got to immediately when walking in. There were fruit flies. The refrigerator smelled like spoiled meat, the nedding was WET.! I immediately went to the front desk. Whoever was working during the day showed me another room on 1st floor. It smelled horrible and was incredibly damp. This was all on the 1st floor so they moved me to the 3rd floor. And I was thinking that sounds great, because that's where my mom and I stayed back in march. I get up to my room and again. Can't breathe. There is a dehumidifier in the room, but for some reason it wasn't turned on. I went to use the toilet and there was either poop Or period blood all over it..at this point I had already been into 3 rooms and paid for 2 nights. So I knew I wasn't gonna get my money back and didn't want to deal with them for a third time in a third bad room, major language barrier, im not sure they would of understood but i took pictures . Their breakfast is good. The staff is nice depending on who you see, But i'm not sure where the downfall of this place began. Its awful. I had to DoorDash an air circulation fan The first night I was here because they did not have the key to their own maintenance room that had extra dehumidifiers, nor did they have any fans. Even on my first night here I went down to the desk To ask them if they had any air freshener or something for the room. They gave me a spray that is used for the entire hotel. So I had to come up, Spray my room and come back down? It didnt help. Theres A LOT OF BUGS. I didnt see bed bugs but ive killed several other creatures in 2 nights. I also noticed this time the bed was incredibly itchy not sure if they are using a new detergent, or maybe not cleaning at all based on what ive found. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT ever stay at Best Western Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

When we arrived to the hotel we definately figured out we were catfished. There was a dead rodent laying right outside of the hotel entrance. When entering the hotel it was a disaster, along with an extremely rude attendant at the front desk. I requested to be able to check out our room prior to checking in. She rudely swiped the card to activate the room key and then handed it to me without saying a word. The room was absolutely DISGUSTING!!!! Hair and who knows what else on the bed linens and more stains on the cushion under the window. The smell was horrible as well and was obviously not clean.

When we went back to the front desk to cancel and attempt to quickly find a different place to stay, the attendant had a horrible attitude with us once again.

Thankfully Holiday Inn came to the rescue and quickly found four families a place to stay for the week! They were above AWESOME!!!

Unfortunately, after attempting to reach the hotel multiple times to not be charged for our stay, they have sent the charge through. The first call we were told the manager was not available, the second time she said she didn’t have time for us and the third she said the manager was not available (the same person answering for each call).

I had reached out to corporate by phone and they were of no assistance. Only wanted to give me points for a future stay….no thanks. And I emailed twice still with...

Pros: Good for an overnighter. At check in employee was polite, professional, & precise in directing us to our room & about breakfast. For one of the lowest rates in area Room was clean, bug free, bed comfortable, and heater worked well on a cool night. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee available. Nice soap/shampoo products. Cons: It was bearable but water was just barely warm. The counter over toilet was a horrible & inconvenient design as you could not fully raise lid (it would fall down on my back, & I imagined this happening to a man during...) plus the toilet paper holder was so close & too far back you had to fully twist around for it- I'm a petite person & this was fairly awkward- would imagine a larger person would have even greater issue with this- more than a night or more than a few hours in the room would have made these issues more annoying. Breakfast pandemic style was brown bag: this day apple, packaged sausage biscuits, & small granola bar- if it was in a clear baggie I would not have wasted taking one- I was hoping for a banana, it's a pretty common breakfast item & a lot of people can't bite into apples. OJ & coffee & hot water was good. Box cereal & milk available- if you can pick up & choose that, why could you not have other wrapped items not in a bag for choosing?
