I go there at the hotel later then I wanted to so I decided to eat there. I order a Cheeseburger and fries at the bar and a glass of wine. I told the bar tender that I would like to eat outside by the pool. She advised me that they could serve the wine in glassware and pour the wine in a clear plastic cup, which I totally understood. My Burger and fries came out and they were excellent. I decided to get a 2nd glass of wine and enjoy the atmosphere around the pool and retired for the night. Since I included breakfast with my stay I went to the dinning area for breakfast. This was around 9:30 am. There was no one at the desk entrance to the restaurant at the time. I started walking towards a empty table next to the window near the exit going out to the pool and was approached by a waiter named Kevin O. He confirmed that they would seat me so I walked back the the desk located at the entrance to the restaurant. He came back and offered me a table in the interior where it was not lighted well and I told him I would like to seat at the one table next to the window. He said he would have to clean it. He cleared the table off and I sat down. I order a coffee. Kevin O, promptly brought back a hot coffee in what I would describe as a blue plastic mug, one that you may have on a camping trip. Thinking because I was sitting near the door to the outside area ,I mentioned to him about the plastic cup. He went away and brought back a to âgo cupâ and offered that. I told him I would prefer a regular porcelain mug. He advised that they didnât have any?? I was surprised at this comment because the were only 3 couples to my right who had black porcelain coffee cups and a family of maybe 4 with grandkids and the rest of the restaurant was empty. It wasnât offer a porcelain mug until I took a photo of the plastic cup when all of a sudden a black mug came out of the kitchen area. I ordered soft scrambled eggs, bacon and grits. I believe I had order gravy for or on the biscuits. My plate came out, and the waitress did not offer or ask if there was anything else needed and basically walked away. The grits were Luke warm, no steam coming off of them, even if I would have been offered butter with the meal, I donât believe the grits would have melted the butter without some serious mixing. There was no offer of Jam or jelly for the biscuits. The bacon and eggs were good, but the entire breakfast experience was very disappointing. I would be very reluctant to recommend this hotel...

I had high expectations for Hotel Indigo in Mt. Pleasant, SC, especially since I booked through my friendâs wedding room block. However, my experience was frustrating and disappointing.
After a long travel day, I arrived only to be told that my room was not available due to the hotel being oversold. There was no backup plan in place, leaving me scrambling to find alternative accommodations at the last minuteâcosting me $600 for a different hotel. I was assured that the manager would call me first thing in the morning, but I had to reach out myself to speak with her. Instead of a sincere apology, she made it seem like a favor that I wouldnât be charged for the night I was turned away.
The issues didnât stop there. I was given the wrong wedding party welcome bag, and when I finally checked in for Saturday night (which was comped after much back-and-forth), my room was told to not be ready despite the manager personally calling me (seemed there was no communication with frontline staff). The manager never came out to speak with me, despite the hassle I endured. It wasnât until I escalated the issue to the GM that I finally received a genuine apology. Keven was a delight at the front desk and felt that he was put in a difficult position to deliver the news where the manager should have been all over this rather than standing idle aside the restaurant bar.
While the hotel itself is clean and well-maintained, the poor management and lack of accountability make it a risky choiceâespecially for wedding room blocks. I wonât get back the money I lost on Fridayâs unexpected stay elsewhere, nor the inconvenience of having to carry my bags around Charleston. With so many other options available, I wouldnât recommend staying here, particularly for...
Read moreLocation really is this hotels best attribute. I wrote a brief review on Airbnb. Which was an unnecessary avenue for me to book since the host couldnât help I had to contact the hotel but you live and you learn. My most notable things starting with good are the food was great, especially breakfast. The coffee was super good. There pool was the really nice. I think they could have skimmed it better. Towels were plentiful. They also kept cold ice water and cups in the bar area. Again location location location. Ohh and you must eat at Vernâs, Cudaco, and Vicious biscuit. Sooooo good. Front desk staff were awesome. And the staff at breakfast in the kitchen!!!
On with the bad. Female bartender extremely rude. We ordered dinner and it came out wrong not bad just minor things. She said she was just a bartender and she didnât know what else to do đ˛. Shocked. Anyways manager stepped in. Resolved. Our room was cleanish. Attention to detail is not their strong point. I know animals are allowed but I should not see fur left behind. And a beard hair on the dresser. Hair in the shower. And the desk was noticeably dirty. I brought Clorox wipes so I freshened up things although I shouldnât have had to. I did have to continuously ask for towels AND wash cloths. We had our fridge replaced twice and had to encounter and extremely rude âengineerâ that told us they only reached 60 degrees anyways and there was nothing wrong with your first fridge I can bring it back if you want. Then offered a brand new one that froze our waterâŚ. Didnât know freezing point was 60 degreesâŚ.
All in all I would stay again because of the location for 2 nights or so. A longer stay I wouldnât. We stayed 5 nights. Still not bad...
