Garden Fresh Market — Attraction in Mundelein

We love shopping at this store, although my husband goes here more often than I do since it's in close proximity to his work and 35 minutes from our house. I used to shop at the Arlington Heights location and sometimes go to the Buffalo Grove store. For the most part, they have great deals. The exception on my last visit was Turkish style coffee on sale for $9.99! Are you joking - this is regularly on sale for $5.99-$6.99 at other stores like Eurofresh and Harvest Fresh. I prefer the bakery dept at the Buffalo Grove location - but this store gets high marks for its incredible bulk spice section, which is truly impressive! Also love the cow sculpture above the meat.

December 2024 Update: This store is still incredibly intriguing with an eclectic selection of goodies, but their prices are all over the place. Some amazing deals on a 52 oz. Bolthouse Pumpkin Latte with a short deadline for 99 cents and delicious Sunview Raisins Medley (15 oz.) for $3.99. But $4.29 for XL eggs and $4,99 for a 24 pack of Essential water are higher prices than Jewel, Mariano's, and other European...

Very bad experience today at this Garden fresh. Trying to purchase a bread which is on sale for $7.99 as shown on the attached picture. The cashier scanned it as $8.99. I told the cashier that is on sale for $7.99. The cashier asked Pedro (who claimed he was in charge at the store at that time), Pedro called someone and was confirmed it is $7.99, but he still told me that it is $8.99 and that the $7.99 price is for another brand. He then said that he can do me a favor to give me for $7.99, which I rejected.

I then checked myself again in the store to confirm that it is indeed on sale for $7.99 - the brand I am trying to purchase (see attached picture)

It is a shame that Pedro to still tell me that it is $8.99 even though he was already confirmed the on sale price of $7.99 for the item.

For all the shoppers in the store, pay attention to the price...

It's where I get my groceries because the Walmart in Vernon hills doesn't have any of that. I have had no complaints about the fresh fruits and vegetables that I got here and the prices are good too. It's a fairly large place where other than the aforementioned things, you can also get other food commodities that range from different areas of the world. They also have stuff like utensils and spirits. So, basically a well stocked supermarket. It's nice that they have signs that properly say where's what. I usually go in the mornings, so I haven't seen a rush here, and maybe that's why they have only two counters open at that time. But it's helpful that they bag the stuff for us and maybe even put into our carts. A plus point is that they have an Amazon hub locker so I can just send my orders here since I'll be coming...
