Amazing. Probably the best hamburger in West Michigan as they claim. I tried it while they visited at City Built Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, MI.
Fat Mikey (double cheeseburger) - $12: Everything is designed for the very best burger and it was well executed. The burger was greasy good and the whole thing just melted in your mouth, even the burger. The cheese was melted to perfection and oozed. The Mikey Sauce was really good. The toppings were very well balanced. I found it REALLY hard to complain.
Fresh Hand Cut Fries - $5: ONE POUND! The fries were thin and medium to deep with flavor. They were salted just a touch extra, but in this case, it was actually a compliment. They cool fast, so eat them first and fast. At a serving size of one pound, you should probably share.
Sauces: Mikey Sauce is very good. It has its own spice blend, but it is light enough not to be overwhelming. It is just right.
Wild Mikey Sauce was my favorite. The chipotle was perfectly balanced with a sweetness that aggressively and boldly grabs your taste buds. I’m coming back for more for sure!
I want to try the Cajun Kaja Mayo.
Service: Tim was taking orders and has a MASSIVE connection personality. He clicked with everyone in line and walked around to talk about your experience. He is the face of Hamburger Mikey and for VERY good reasons. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and REALLY positive.
Atmosphere: They were visiting at City Built Brewing Company, so I cannot say much about the restaurant. It was super cool to see them collaborate, though!
Conclusion: I have nothing to complain about except that they are not in Grand Rapids. I want to visit their actual location and think about it more, but I would say at this point, they are probably the very best burger in West Michigan.

Read morewe happened to be in the area and heard this places was famous for their burgers so we stopped by. our order was around 21$ for two single patty burgers, a large fry, and two drinks, my boyfriend gave 25$ and they didn't give him back his change. the gentleman taking our order seemed annoyed for some reason the whole time and everyone working behind the kitchen also looked very annoyed. we waited at the picnic tables outside for our food which took around 15 minutes. our order was handed to a homeless man that happened to also be getting food courtesy of some other kind patrons. they tried making him pay for it which was ridiculous considering he was homeless and without much money. after my boyfriend intervened they gave the homeless man his order and tried giving us the bag that a stranger had riffled through during pandemic times so we asked for it remade. Apparently the staff yelled at the very sweet lady running orders to people outside which upset us as it wasn't her fault that the order had to be remade. we got our food and it was just okay, wasn't particularly special to either of us, the fries were good though and they give you a lot. my boyfriend ended up going back inside and saying something about the mix up with our order and how they shouldn't be angry at the woman running orders and the owner just kind of shrugged. all around I wouldn't come here just for the "famous burgers" if you're in the area and want overpriced burgers, sure go here, but I probably...
Read moreI really like the burgers, they are juicy, freshly made, hot off the griddle, and I love the toppings options. The Mikey sauce really makes the burger unique and different from Five Guys, which this joint resembles. I love the prices being more reasonable than Fi e Guys as well.. I rated 3 stars ONLY because the fries are cooked wayyyyy TOOOOOO freaking long. They would be much better if cooked 5 minutes less. I love thicker fries, like Five Guys, because it tastes like you’re eating a fry from a real potato. I love McDonalds skinny fries because they’re cooked JUST right!! Fries that skinny, don’t need to be cooked till there brownish and hard! Although, they give you a ton of fries, I throw away 90% of them. So I’ve decided to NOT order the fries anymore. The place is small, but clean. I saw a cook eating fries while in the kitchen. I was thinking that I’ll never come back again, but then he did put on a new pair of gloves before proceeding with cooking. It’s not cozy enough to meet my standard to dine in, so I always do take out.
Mikey, PLZZZZ take 5 minutes off the cooking time for those skinny fries, you’re cooking the life outta them!! I promise they’ll be PERFECT like McDonalds, whose loved...
