Forbes Candies - Nags Head South — Attraction in Nags Head

My daughter and I are here in OBX on vacation. We were so excited to come here but in reality we left quite disappointed. I wasn't expecting to walk into Willy Wonka's candy factory but to call this a "candy shop" seems like a misnomer. It is a gift shop that sells candy. The candy they sell is fine, nothing spectacular. But what made us cut our visit here even shorter was how loud the employees were. We were the only ones in the shop and the 2 employees working were basically yelling during their convo which traveled throughout the store. They were so loud that it made my ears hurt and I told my daughter let's just buy this stuff and get out of here. Wonderful candy shop with souvenirs, and some beach gear. Their salt water Taffy is awesome, just like I remember as a kid. Their chocolates are divine. The price is a bit high perhaps but the quality is A-1. We got dark chocolate covered caramels with sea salt and milk chocolate pecan caramel clusters. Both were very decadent. I've been getting candy, Chocolate and Fudge every time I go to the beach. More times than I can remember. Never had a unsatisfied experience. But, this time I was taken back by the staff being cold and unfriendly. After reading the sign on the front door stating that we should be nice to the staff because they were short staffed.
