Outer Banks Adventures & Watersports — Attraction in Roanoke Island

We had the most amazing day today on the Airboat tour! We had booked a dolphin tour and realized we booked it at the wrong day/time… We got recommended here and they hadn’t even opened yet for the season… I ran a risk and called them in hopes for a chance they would open for us considering it was my birthday and we were recommended to them and they did! Wow! What a BLAST! It was SO last second- called 7pm the night before, when they weren’t open for season yet, AND he had a long drive to Pittsburgh same day, all while still taking us out there! When we got there CPT Jamie gave me a free T-shirt to celebrate my birthday, stopped at plenty of places to give us history and facts on the town, and even melted our hearts as he picked up trash whenever he went. The sweetest & smartest guide with the biggest heart for people and nature. We couldn’t have had a better day. He made our trip so memorable. I heard Jamie (the airboat captain):was filled with fun facts about the area, and he did not disappoint. I have lived here for 30 years ( even done kayak tours myself) and this tour had new info about the island .. new even for me. He can take you places you can't get to any other way. A truly unique and "must have" experience on the OBX .. even if you have been coming here your whole life, the airboat tour can still surprise you . . Jamie is laid back, kind, full of local facts, and an excellent water man. His experience and expertise were quickly demonstrated when he made a quick stop at the beginning of our trip to rescue 3 very stranded jetskiers. He didn't miss a beat.. pulled them all to safety and took us on our way. He was wet, it was cold, but his smile and good attitude stayed the course! Upon a last minute decision to try jet skis for the first time , I was looking for places to go, not only are Shannon and Jamie (the owners) great people, they also happen to own one of the best adventure spots in the OBX. They walked me through my first time riding a jet ski and made me feel very at ease. They opened on a day they were initially closed to open their doors to everyone looking to celebrate Memorial Day weekend! The jet skis are new and run super well, mine even had a speaker! The amount of space there was to ride was absolutely amazing. The lot of water is perfect for jet skis and other adventures, as it is a perfect height for safety. Additionally, the location views the bridge, and the Soundside where the sun sets so beautifully. I took one of my best friends along with me, and he is now obsessed with jet skis after this expirience . I will definitely be coming back for more...
