Booty Treats Ice Cream & Shave — Restaurant in Nags Head

While there’s always a line at Booty Treats, it moves quickly and is there for a reason-great service and great frozen treats. It’s a hustling and bustling ice cream shop!

This visit, we opted for the ice cream, though they have other options including shaved ice. The ice cream is Hershey’s ice cream with a wide variety of options in stock as well as toppings and various cones. Though the line was nearly to the back of the building, we were in and out in under 15 minutes with four different orders. While you wait, you can also browse a surprisingly wide selection of Booty Treats merchandise and apparel.

We enjoyed our ice cream at the picnic tables behind the building, and my daughter got to meet one of the owners (and his very friendly dog, Sundae). He spent a few minutes sharing some Nags Head history with the kids while Sundae enjoyed some pets. A really great spot to end a busy day...

Bit of a unique ordering system here. Stand inside air conditioner area to order and then pickup outside though window. On a hot day that would be very welcomed! They have tons of flavors of scoopable ice cream and options to make all of those flavors into shakes which was nice for on the go travel. Many other options as well. The only major complaint my whole group had was the paper straws. I get saving waste, but a paper straw can't hold up to trying to suck out a chunky shake and sticks to your lips and fails before ice cream is gone....and the shake is served in a plastic cup with plastic lid...so what are we really saving here. 🤔 Actually an insulated cup would also go a long way to keeping the ice cream from melting almost instantly and a larger bore plastic straw or at least inclusion of a spoon is needed. We will be back and hopefully can edit this issue...

What a great little ice cream shop! It was conveniently located in walking distance from the house that we stayed in for our summer vacation, and I made terrific use of the proximity. I didn't get a single thing from Booty Treats that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The Booty Freeze was probably my favorite. They have great flavor options, and everything tasted great. Plus, you have to admit it's a lot of fun to say! Booty Treats! Make sure you get there kinda early. Once the sun starts to set, they get pretty busy. Like most places in OBX these days, they are a bit understaffed, but despite that, they still get you through the line in a fairly quick amount of time.
