Herzing University - Nashville — Attraction in Nashville-Davidson

I am attempting to re-enter nursing school with previous credits and the process has been exceedingly difficult. I have been accepted to several universities within the same state that I recieved the credits from, and all of them have refused to accept nursing school credits outside of their own programs.

When I shifted to exploring out of state, I found Herzing University which advertises itself to be ‘transfer credit friendly’. Not only was I shocked by how quickly the University responded to my email detailing my dilema and desire complete my BSN, but have been genuinely impressed by the admissions office. I spoke and worked with Raegan; the Senior Admissions officer who was absolutely lovely, highly informative, knowledgeable in all aspects of the acceptance process to University, and motivational as she checked in with me regularly to see what was needed on her end to complete and submit the application. I have attended several schools and community colleges between my first Bachelor’s degree, and prerequisites for college and Nursing programs and have never had the pleasure of working with an admissions office that was so informative and supportive. My usual experience has been contacting and getting all of my questions answered by several people who would typically have to refer me to others. Raegan’s experience makes her a ‘one-stop-shop’ for everything outside of financing. And for this, she established an appointment for me with Tiffany Gaskin- who was just as informative, welcoming, and knowledgeable in terms of financing my education. Instead of the usual ‘okay, so you want to go to our school, what questions do you have about how to pay for it’, she broke down the total costs, what I could take out in student loans given my last program, and even gave me the names of several facilities that the institution partners with that I could potentially work for to earn tuition reimbursement and discounts.

I can’t emphasize enough how impressed I have been with the staff at Herzing. The amount of guidance, and support I have been given when I am not even a student quite yet has been astounding. Because of Raegan’s hard work and dedication to her prospective students, I feel as if I have a chance again to be the quality RN that I always envisioned myself of becoming. Hopefully, I will recieve a response to my application soon and be granted acceptance. Even if it was a ‘rejection’ letter, I feel more informed and motivated to keep going until I can make it happen.

From the moment I considered Herzing as a possibility for my transition into the medical field, I made contact with Admissions at the Nashville campus. I spoke with an advisor by the name of Taylor Garza. From the outset, it was clear that she was not trying to sell a product but I recognized a deep sense of empathy to my particular situation. I explained to her what my career goals were and she attentively listened and went through everything single program which applied to my personal situation. She noted the pros and cons of each program as it related to me. This education enabled me to make an informed decision on what program to choose and what program to work towards in the future at Herzing. Taylor displayed a high level of professionalism and she was very responsive to my emails and phone calls. Honestly, if I could have given her more than 5 stars, I would. Whilst my interaction was mainly with Taylor Garza, I also had conversations with financial aid and did tour the Nashville campus. In all instances, I was pleased with the interaction I had. I am still at a stage of infancy in my program but so far, things have been going well and I trust that they will continue. The learning platform does what it is suppose to do and I have not experienced anything egregious to leave a negative comment. I would not hesitate to recommend this school to anyone who has a busy life style with conflicting deadlines but yet want to reach their career goals. A big shout out to you Taylor Garza.
