I had a two-night stay at this Sleep Inn, and was pleased to find an immaculately clean, well-maintained room when I arrived. It appeared to have been recently renovated, with no off odors, and the carpets and furniture were in good shape. On the maintenance side, the only negatives were a dripping shower head (which was no problem once the pocket door to the shower area was closed), a missing latch for the pocket door, a small hole in the ceiling of the shower, itself, and a few nicks on the dresser/tv stand. The bed was firm and comfortable, and gave me two excellent nights of sleep. The television and remote worked, as did the internet, and the selection of cable channels was impressive, though a local channel guide might have been useful. The breakfast area was also clean, and breakfast was to brand standards, including biscuits and gravy, make-your-own waffles, yogurt (although only the type containing artificial sweeteners, not Activia or some other brand), bananas and apples as fruits, bagels, whole wheat bread, assorted pastries, hardboiled eggs, cream cheese (kept cold in the refrigerator), cold cereals, milk, orange juice, apple juice, flavored instant oatmeals, coffee, hot water for tea, and honey. USA Today was available on both days of my stay. The fitness center had a working treadmill, stepper and bike, but it was on the warm side for exercise, as it had no air conditioning unit, thermostat, or openable window, instead being heated and cooled by a vent that supplied air the same temperature as that in the corridors. A small exhaust fan had been retrofitted into the wall, though the workmanship left something to be desired, as there was a gap between the vent grille and the wall, and the wallpaper had not been patched in a workmanlike manner. Although the rooms are supposed to be 100% nonsmoking, when I arrived, another guest in my corridor on the first floor had apparently been smoking, and the corridor reeked of smoke. It was not clear if the front desk manager had made any effort to correct this before I arrived. My request the preceding day to be put on the side of the hotel away from the sports bar at the rear/side of the hotel was not honored, and I had to turn the A/C on to provide white noise when the music at the sports bar behind the hotel started on my second night. Even considering the latter issues, this was a terrific place, and I would recommend it to others looking for a clean, comfortable room with a good breakfast that is close to the airport and the Opry and that also has easy access to the downtown...
Read moreI would not recommend staying at this hotel, especially for anyone with specific accessibility needs. My fiancé, Neven, and I stayed here during a trip to Tennessee, and the experience was far from what we expected. Neven is paralyzed, and as a result, his body is already compromised when it comes to things like coughing and breathing properly. We booked a room online with the understanding that it would be wheelchair accessible, including a roll-in shower. Unfortunately, the room was anything but accommodating.
Instead of a roll-in shower, we were given a tub with handrails and an unstable shower bench that didn’t even fit in the tub properly. It was a safety hazard. The showerhead was ripped out of the wall, and the tub didn’t drain properly while showering. The worst part was when I noticed a large patch of black mold (about 6x12 inches) on the bathroom ceiling, which was leaking water during the night while the person above us showered.
When I approached the front desk, they were completely unhelpful, refusing to move us to another room. At this point, it was already 10 PM, and we had no other option but to stay in the moldy room for the night. That night, I started coughing up blood, and though I can’t say for sure it was related to the mold, it was definitely a concern.
The next morning, we decided to leave early and went to the front desk to explain the situation. We were supposed to stay three nights, but given the dangerous conditions, we had no choice but to leave. While they refunded us for the two nights we canceled, they refused to refund the night we stayed in the moldy room with no other option for relocation.
Overall, the hotel was dirty, smelled of smoke (even though they claim to be a 100% non-smoking property), and had several serious maintenance issues. I strongly advise anyone with accessibility needs or concerns about cleanliness to avoid this location. It was a very disappointing and...
Read moreThis was one of my most horrible experiences at any hotel. My truck was broken into at 330 in the morning along with about 20 other vehicles. There was no security as advertised on the door of the hotel. The staff once the customers found out what happened to their vehicles, acted so non caring about the situation. We were told that no one from management would be in until around 1130 in the am. Several people contacted the Nashville Metro Police and it took over 7 hours for someone to show up to do a report on what happened. The staff at the hotel made no attempt to try to care about the situation as a few of us found out through other customers that this has happened at this hotel on several occasions. If I had not requested a refund on my nights stay the management made no offer to reimburse my nights stay. My drivers side front and back door windows were both smashed and items were removed from my vehicle. I had to make my own arrangements to find and locate a window repair shop that could replace my windows before I could leave. They made no offer to compensate my very frustrating ordeal. They need to hire a security company even though they have cameras at the hotel what does a camera do. The hotel ensured customers that they had Metro police patrolling the area. This was not the case. Had someone been patrolling the parking lots this would not have taken place. I'm not saying not to stay here, but I am warning to stay at your own risk and whatever your pocket book or wallet an handle. This area did not seem like a sketchy area there are several hotels a gas station several restaurants and open areas. However the old story is never judge a book by its cover. Had I known that this area was notorious for smash and grab vandalism I would...
