CB has changed and not for the better! We were seated and received menus but waited until we were almost ready to leave when our waiter appeared. We ordered a Fried Chicken Salad and a Fried Chicken BLT. The salad arrived with fried chicken cut up on a bed lettuce and three small bite size tomatoes with a slice of cucumber. No real salad "mix" with any thing like carrots, purple cabbage, etc - just lettuce. The chicken was over fried making for tough little bites. There was supposed to have been croutons and a wedge of Cheese but those were totally missing. The Southern Fried chicken BLT was delivered with 10 French fries (it was so sparce with fries you could glance at them and quickly count only 10!!!). The sandwich had two RAW pieces of bacon criss crossing a small grilled (not fried) chicken breast. Both fries and sandwich was served cold probably from us having to wait almost 30 minutes to get our food. We asked to see a manager and upon see him take a seat at another table had to ask our server again to see the Mgr. He came and introduced himself as Javon. When we showed and explained it to him, his only reply was he was new.... We told him the service and the food was unacceptable being served as it was and he offered to comp the meal. We appreciated it but told him this was just not what CB used to be and we were HUGELY not happy about it. He offered a free desert but at that point we just wanted to finish was we could salvage of our meal and leave (considering we had been there for 1 1/2 hrs!). Before we could get done, our server showed up and laid two receipts on the table explaining one of them was the regular charges and the other one was an "adjusted" ticket. So the Mgr did not comp the meals, he only reduced the price to $5.49 each!! Unbelievable!! Needless to say it will be a LONG TIME BEFORE WE WILL BE RETURNING TO Cracker Barrel. Terrible service, terrible food and terrible...
Read moreWe have visited this location multiple times when family is in town. It has all the usual features of a Cracker Barrel: intolerable wait times, ineffectual wait staff, mediocre breakfast food.
Took my partner's father here this morning (Father's Day) since he loves Cracker Barrel. Arrived at 730 am with almost no other cars in the lot or customers at tables. There were only 3 in our party and we were seated immediately.
It then took 15 minutes for anyone to visit our table for the first time. Then another 20 to receive our drinks and food. The grits were runny, watery and bland. The biscuits were under cooked and doughy. The sawmill gravy was flavorless save for an overwhelming amount of pepper. My "scrambled" eggs were a flat, firm patty (looked more like an omelette with nothing in it). My hash brown casserole was rubbery and stale, as if it had sat under a heat lamp for too long and then allowed to cool.
None of the food was hot when it arrived, despite taking 20 minutes to arrive after ordering.
A manager visited our table and asked how things were. When we expressed our issues with the food she became visibly and audibly upset with us. She did offer to have things re-made, but we explained that members of our party had other engagements and we didn't have time. We had two party members that didn't eat more than two bites of their meal, and only one of those meals was comped.
In conclusion: this was an exceptionally poor Cracker Barrel experience for me. Overall I usually expect service and speed to be sub-standard at Cracker Barrel and the food to be on the lower end of acceptable, but today the food was literally inedible and the speed of service was absolutely unacceptable considering the restaurant was practically empty. In fact I have had so many negative dining experiences at Cracker Barrel restaurants that I no longer patronize any of their locations unless someone else in my...
Read moreThis is NOT the first or second time. This is the third time and I usually don’t complain so here is what happened. Okay so I ordered my food and did NOT get a confirmation receipt. They charged my card but the still no confirmation and the Cracker Barrel was 20 min away from pick up so I tried to call and see if it put through. I also wanted to call to get my white gravy on the side of my steak before they started making it. I called (when I went in store there was 2 front store people. A guy and a girl.I called 3 different times and mind you the guy in the front picked up each time and had an attitude each time) the guy in the front goes “well I work in the front and can’t go to the back so let me put you to the manager.” Manager put it on hold right away and hung up IMMEDIATELY. And mind you the guy in the front who “couldn’t check my meal” kept going back to check on orders when I went to pick up my order. What’s even mind baffling is when I went and confirmed with another store front associate for my order, she EASILY checked on her screen in FRONT of HER unlike the guy on the phone and easily modified my order. So I had to wait an extra 30 min for them to remake a country fried steak order because someone was lazy to go back there. He was also giving an attitude in his voice when he would check people out. I noticed when he checked me out and checking out a few people after me while I was waiting. I get it, we’ve all, if not most worked in retail or food, but don’t bring your burden to anyone else because you don’t want to work or service people. Change your job if you don’t like it. Also the chicken tenders were hard and cold, shrimp was cold and the steak was also barely cooked for the trio meal. The country fried steak was STILL not cook? Which I don’t understand. I received no condiments that I also ordered so I had to eat my chicken tenders...
