Nashville Public Library Edmondson Pike Branch — Attraction in Nashville-Davidson

I accompanied my son to the Children’s Area. He requested an authorization strip to use the computer. I requested an authorization strip as well because I’m his mother and do not want to leave him in the Children’s area and I’m on the opposite side of the building using the computer. I was told by Cassie the Children’s Librarian that I’m not permitted per policy. I requested to see the policy that does not reflect what she’s stating as policy. This is the first that it was an issue. I requested to see the policy. The policy states, For children 13 and under and their caregivers. I asked her to consider that it is not safe for him to be on the opposite side of the building unattended. She insisted that I am not permitted to use the computer in the area with my son. This is an unbelievable place. If you love books, this is a great place to hang out. Its not all about books too. If you fancy it, there are yoga, zumba activities to be done, theres a childrens play area as well. The library is free to enter and the membership is also totally free. You can checkout upto a whooping 100 items at a time!!! including books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs or Playaways. The staff are helpful and pleasant. This is an awesome library. Our kids love to come here and play on the playground and then go inside for books. It’s always very clean and quiet inside. They have a nice kid section with lots of books and a decent amount of toys / activities as well.
