The little restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen looks clean and orderly. The woman who took my order was fast and courteous, and she told me my wait time. I asked to run next door to get a coffee, and she told me that was just fine. By the time I came back, my food was complete. hot and fresh to order. It was spicy and perfect. fast for my lunch break. I also want to say this. General Tsos is a spicy dish. Some places allow you to pick your level of spice, however, for those holding the spiciness of general Tsos against them..thats not fair. I suggest you stick to Sesame Chicken. Now, in fairness, I will say, I wish the generals had broccoli in it, but it is not a deal breaker for me. The spring roll was delightful, and my veggie lo mein was also nice. The food was still tasty and well prepared. I appreciate their hard and fast work. I will take photos next time. I know they have a bad reputation. It seems they have made improvements, and I hope they are allowed to recover from things.I had a pleasant experience and...
Read moreThey used the Sweet and Sour chicken to make Orange chicken. The orange flavoring was way too potent, probably because there were orange peels cut up and served in the dish. It tasted weird and had a weird texture in some spots, too, as though it had burned while sticking to a fryer or something? Idk, it had dry hard spots. The sauce was thick and stuck together like jello. I ordered a combo meal, but instead got this makeshift sweet-and-sour-turned-to-orange-chicken, with a side of bland white rice that wasn't sticky at all like asian rice usually is. You should be able to eat asian white rice with chopsticks, but this wasnt like that at all. I go to these kinds of small generic chinese foods all the time, but this was the worst I've ever had. It was also $2 more than what places that also give you an egg roll usually charge. I won't...
Read moreThere is a previous review that gave this restaurant bad marks and I think they have mistaken it for another Evergreen. I have been to Evergreen Restaurant on the same road as this restaurant and it was terrible in exactly the same way that the other reviewer noted. But Evergreen Express is a hole in the wall at Nippers Corner that is the best tasting chinese in Nashville. When I say BEST I mean FOR ME because I know that people have very different tastes. I have never been to China so I cannot vouch for authenticity, but as far as Americanized Chinese food goes Evergreen Express has the freshest tasting ingredients and delicately balanced flavors in all their dishes. And to top it off their portions are generous for the price so I usually get 3 dishes to feed my family of 5 ($25 tops; beat...
