Update: I try to be accurate and fair when providing reviews. After the dismal first encounter and call with this establishment I will say there was an immediate follow up. What was most impressive about this call wasn't just the quick reply but she didn't make any excuses. First thing she did was apologize for the situation that happened. Furthermore she stated a transfer to her was the next correct stepped. She then proceeded to assist me with what i was inquiring about and provided me with an email. This is customer resolution at its' best! Apologizing (which is free), taking ownership by not making excuses (also free), then providing me with information i was looking for. She may have even earned my business back. This what a consumer can expect from a business that values its' customers and don't want to lose business to the competition. There are several establishments that could learn an immeasurable amount of customer service and customer resolution. I wasn't looking for a discount, some unreasonable question, or uncommon information. I changed this review from the one star they earned to the four starts they earned. I cannot give a 5 stars because they are reserved for those who provide great customer service on a normal basis, and provide it the first time. Hopefully, I will be able to provide 5 stars after our event.
poor customer service from female answering the phone. I called in advance to inquire about a birthday party for about 50. She asked me was this public or not. I replied by informing her I was not sure. I am looking at your packages gold, silver, and plat. which doesn't say if it is public or not. She informed me it was public. I informed her I am not looking for anything sharing when I am paying your plat. price. I am looking for something private. She then said ok. I stood on the phone to see if she add any options, suggestions, but she had this i don't care for your business attitude and did not provide me with any additional information. Very unprofessional and Ill take my $4k someone where who will provide me with professional options to future clients with a large party of 50 or more. I am sure Pepsi Ice Arena, City National Arena, or Rock rink at Downtown Summerlin would love to take your opportunity and turn it to their advantage. The biggest missed opportunity is in the future. I am a coach for a high school football team which is made up of 147 players. We were looking to get information for our team as well but I wouldn't dare give this poor customer service establishment any money. I am sure we will get better service from your competitor. If i was the owner, I would need to inform anyone answering phones, addressing clients, and opportunities that could be at the other end. A little professional service would have made the differences. Now i will recommend everyone not to waste your time or money for an establishment that cannot hire employees to talk with clients/customers in a...
Read moreI realized today (11/11/20) that I haven't written a review of this place yet, so to fix that, here I am because I believe praise and good reviews should be given where they are due. I believe LVIC absolutely deserves that praise. I originally came to the Las Vegas Ice Center to get my start with ice skating, and eventually hockey, in December of '19. I kept coming because of the numerous and consistent wonderful experiences I've had here. Back then, I hadn't been on the ice in over ten years and had almost no idea what I was doing when it came to skating, skate maintenance, hockey gear, etc. The staff at the Las Vegas Ice Center have been very friendly from my first time there and still to this day. They are also pretty knowledgeable in my experience, which has been incredibly helpful in my road to playing hockey. I've talked to quite a few of the pro shop guys, and they've been able to answer most questions I've had, even the more "weird" or "obscure" ones. If they didn't know how to do something or didn't know the answer, they knew where to find someone who did and didn't try to run me around like a lot of other places probably would. They've never acted like I'm wasting their time and they've never been dismissive of me. This is coming from somebody who comes to their facility at least once a week, and sometimes more than that. The classes I've taken here have been very welcoming and I've never felt like I was less than for not knowing how to skate very well. Any hard time I've been given has been in good fun, which is to be expected, and honestly, I enjoy. The culture here is great and feels less judgemental than other rinks I've been to. In short, I can't recommend the Las Vegas Ice Center enough to anyone who wants to take up hockey, figure skating, or ice...
Read morePlace was nice, We went to the open skate on Sunday where they had Christmas lights and stuff on the ice with the rink lights off and Christmas music playing.
2 big issues, the place was PACKED and we had to wait outside for 35 minutes before they finally let the people who prepaid in. This is unacceptable since we are paying for ice time and it 30 minutes of it was wasted before they finally got a plan together.
Another issue is that they allowed people to have their own private figure skating lessons during public skate. Lessons should never take place during open skate.
The biggest issue I had with this place other than how packed it was is that the very young skate guards didn't care at all! They were racing other kids and weaving in and out of people who are of varying levels, including young children who don't take predictable lines. I'm not talking going a little faster than others, I mean they were FLYING in and out. I have no doubt the skate guards are experienced skaters, but the kids they were racing were not and there were times I saw them hit children using the skate walkers and other times saw them fall and hit the wall.
This is a huge safety issue and a liability for the rink. Regardless of their waiver, they make people sign. If the company itself is the cause of a patrons injury, the rink is liable for all damages that occur.
Though I will probably use this facility for lessons, I will steer very clear of public skate if they aren't going to take safety seriously. A definite talking to of the skate...
