Happy hour tacos were plain and microwave hot but it was not consistent across the board with each selection like another reviewer stated on here. The fajitas are the only option I recommend from here. The bald headed owner/manager/bartender was too pushy trying to upsell when all we wanted was the happy hour special. He was kinda in the way of the server, like he needed to micro manage every aspect of the operation. We specifically came in there for $8 house margarita and $3.00 off tacos. All we needed to hear from him was “Is your food good do you need anything else?” Not all this explanation on everything like he’s doing in his response below. The owner/manager/bartender talked so much to the point I just wanted to eat my food and be left alone. He was trying too hard to upsell alcohol when some people just want what they want. Both owner and server talked so much the server held up two size glasses one big and one small. This confusion tricked my wife into getting a $17.00 “skinny” margarita instead of house as we initially asked for. Bare in mind this was poorly executed by the owner/manager/bartender he personally jumped in an made. Probably a nice guy just needs to read the room better. If we’re not asking for an explanation maybe there doesn’t need to be one applied. Taking out the store bought sour mix doesn’t mean add more of your “organic” mix to balance it out. Think about a drink drowning in mix with barely enough alcohol you can taste. Even if the drink is smaller equal portions creates a tastier drink. I tried a sip and said oh well its $8.00 it is what it is. He debated with the server to only knock off 29% for this mishap. After we saw $17.00 he should have either move it to $8.00 or take it off altogether since it was poorly executed. My wife told him it was okay when he personally asked how does it taste. He was content with keeping the customer at that state. Why ask if you can’t handle constructive criticism. She was nicer than I would have been if that was my drink. I’m good with this place as we ate here 3x now. This last visit left a bad taste. “Literally and figuratively” This is not a Las Vegas strip restaurant. Stop trying to act like one.

I was thrilled to see a new restaurant in this convenient location and it certainly did not disappoint! Upon entering, I was immediately stunned by the complete remodel that has been done to create a distinctly refined, yet casual atmosphere. My server, Carlos, was very friendly and attentive throughout my entire meal. I was pleasantly surprised to see what was clearly a carefully crafted menu with a number of unique dishes and a balance of offerings you might expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. It was clear to me immediately that the Flavors of Mexico part of the name was alluding to an intentional dive in to the diversity of authentic Mexican food. The fresh made chips and salsa hit the spot to start. A carefully made avocado mojito was instantly smooth and refreshing. The Pollo Enchipotlado I ordered, which I discovered is a favorite dish of one of the owners that his wife makes, was excellent. The two additional homemade salsas that Carlos recommended paired perfectly as well and allowed me to really adjust the flavors in different directions. Since the avocado mojito was so refreshing, I finished the meal with one more and a freshly made flan that was by far the best flan I have ever had. Hector, one of the owners, was in the restaurant and stopped by a few times during my meal. He was engaging and rightly proud of opening the new restaurant. During our conversation, he demonstrated a clear passion for the food and pride in ensuring any dish they make is done right. A promise of more unique dishes from around Mexico was exciting to hear and definitely warrants going back again just to see what other delicious options appear. Looking forward do a return visit soon!

I’m a bit surprised there have only been five star ratings for this place. Maybe it was because we only got happy hour items, but the food was pretty disappointing. We started with complimentary chips and salsa and it was delicious. You could tell the chips were home made and the salsa was delicious. Not too spicy, not too chunky. We got the salsa sampler also, to try their different homemade salsa. I wouldn’t recommend it as the initial complimentary salsa was the best one. They are not as spicy as you would think, given their 1-3 chili pepper grading scale. From the happy hour menu, the chicken street tacos were pretty good, but not fantastic. Decent size, but it didn’t blow us away. The ground beef tacos were also pretty basic, almost like something you could make at home. The birria quesadilla was next. The actual quesadilla was good, but the birria was a bit plain and didn’t have the flavor I was hoping for/expecting. The steak fries were our least favorite. Lots of chopped steak on top, but the temperature was inconsistent, which made me think it was microwaved. It also did not have a lot of flavor and not a lot of additional toppings. The fries tasted like they were store bought. The dessert was decent as well, but it’s hard to make bad cheesecake. The margarita was good. Not too salty, not too strong. The highlight of the meal was our server. He was just the right amount of charming and I noticed the other server was also very friendly. He checked on us the perfect amount of times. I wish I could give a better score, and I’m hoping the regular menu items are more tasty, but I would not recommend going there for happy hour.

I am truly impressed with Ta Chingon! Since moving here three months ago, my family and I have already been four times, and every visit has been just as wonderful as the last. This place has quickly become one of our favorite spots, not only because of the amazing food but also because of the genuine hospitality we receive each time we walk through the door.

The owners are incredibly sweet and outgoing. They always take the time to check on us personally and make sure we have everything we need, which makes us feel valued as customers. One of the best parts of visiting is getting to talk with the owners and hear their stories—it adds such a personal touch and makes us feel like part of the family. The servers are just as fantastic—attentive, friendly, and welcoming, creating an atmosphere that feels both warm and inviting.

The food, of course, is outstanding. Everything we’ve ordered has been flavorful and well-prepared, but the enchiladas and tacos de camarón stand out as absolute favorites. The portions are generous, the ingredients taste fresh, and you can tell the dishes are made with care. It’s the kind of food that keeps you coming back again and again.

What really makes Ta Chingon special, though, is the way they make us feel like we belong. Dining here feels less like going to a restaurant and more like visiting friends who genuinely care about your experience. That combination of excellent food, heartfelt conversations, and outstanding hospitality is rare, and it’s why I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for a restaurant where you’ll not only eat well but also feel truly welcomed, Ta Chingon is the...
