One of my favorite places to brunch at in Vegas! We literally come here ever weekend. The staff is always so nice and the food is delicious 😋 #originalpancakehouse #brunch #vegas #food #foodie #pancakes #fyp #fypシ゚viral #foryou

Food is always amazing. Team members are all genuinely friendly. The inside and outside are always clean and well kept!! Five Stars Let’s be honest. This five-star rating isn’t just about the food, it’s also a peace offering to avoid a scolding from the owner, Kim, who’s known to respond to critical reviews like she’s defending her thesis. If you’ve read her replies, you know leave anything less than a glowing review and expect to be told you should’ve “said something at the time.” And listen—I get it. That’s not an unreasonable request. If something’s off, speak up. But the tone in Kim’s responses often leans more defensive than helpful, which can make people hesitate to give honest feedback. So, here’s the game plan for future diners: if your meal isn’t right, politely ask for it to be fixed while you're there. Smile. Stay calm. And for your own emotional well-being—leave five stars. Now, to be fair, my wife and I have been longtime customers. Nearly every visit over the years has been spot-on. We genuinely like this place. But our last two visits? Not quite up to standard. • First time, the breakfast potatoes were so overcooked they were nearly burnt. We sent them back and got a better batch. Okay, not ideal, but managed. • Second time, I ordered a cheeseburger medium—it came out well-done. Even the server agreed it wasn’t right. I didn’t send it back, mostly because I didn’t want to wait and I’m not the guy who creates a scene. But it wasn’t what I asked for. • Also, once again, those potatoes… half were overcooked, half was fine. My wife didn’t eat them, but we didn’t mention it because she was full, and we just wanted to enjoy our time. This review isn’t meant to bash the place, it’s more of a friendly PSA. The food is great. But on off days, just be prepared to advocate for yourself kindly and firmly. And don’t be surprised if the reply to your review sounds like you challenged someone to a duel. We’ll still be back, hoping for hot fries, the right burger temperature.

Undeniably a chain, with 1953 origins in Portland OR and the famous Walker Bros location in Wilmette IL, Las Vegas’ The Original Pancake House has been owned and operated by Kim and Stephan Freudenberger since 1995. Created by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke, over 120 Restaurans from coast-to-coast making their name with high-quality Butter, pure Whipping Cream and grade AA eggs, it is from 7am until 2pm that guests can usually expect a brief wait to be seated amidst homey confines featuring smiling service. Not just Pancakes, the cost of Eggs recently raising prices for baked Omelettes and plates like “The Traditional” served with Potatoes and Meat, Coffee is freely-refillable and pretty basic for $4.99 while additional beverages include Coke products and freshly squeezed Orange or Grapefruit Juice. A Beard Award winning concept, Vegas’ only location since a store on Charleston burned down in 2012, fans of The Original Pancake House will assuredly recognize both a German Pancake and the smaller Dutch Baby offered with DIY Glaze and a generous rise surrounding the Souffle center. Opting to also share Bacon, a fluffy Buttermilk Short Stack and crispy Potato Pancakes cooked like a “Smash Burger” online reservations circumvented a wait thus allowing plenty of time to enjoy the signature “Apple Pancake,” a piping hot pile of thinly sliced Granny Smiths teaming with Cinnamon and Sugar atop a buttery golden base proving as much “Pie” as Pancake.

Went here for Father's Day. Clearly these was going to be a wait. My husband got there before me, told me the wait, so I grabbed a coffee on my way there. After a long wait, finally got seated. The person working the hostess stand told me to dump my drink or I couldn't get seated. I told her I'd put it in the car after I put down my daughter's stuff at the table. The lady proceeded to chase after me and make a scene in the restaurant saying that I'm not allowed to walk through the restaurant with it in my hand. I get that food establishments don't want outside food/beverages, but they never made a peep about my daughter's beverage (also in my hand). Yet, I agreed to take it out. After I placed our items at the table, I told my husband my order, and exited the restaurant to put my coffee in the car. I noticed the hostess was whispering to my waitress and pointing at me, all over a coffee. Fantastic! Let's make people feel more awkward about dining at your establishment. Upon re-entering the building, the waitress was taking our order, I sat down and she never asked if I wanted anything. When I said I'd like to order, the waitress gave me an evil eye and barely acknowledged what I said. That made me nervous if she was going to mess up the order, and after the entire fiasco, I asked a staff member to get our waitress so just could cancel my order from the bill. When they brought the food, my husband received the wrong order, but considering he doesn't like to complain, and on his day of all days, Father's Day, he proceeded to eat what he would describe as a nasty omelet that had barely anything on the inside (there was a few items shoved in the corner of the omelet, otherwise it was all egg and cheese). I wish I would've thought to get a picture before we left. He had ordered a western omelet that came with no meat. In addition, the waitress never asked if I wanted any refills on my water that I finished before the food arrived. To sum up our experience, the environment appeared very chaotic in the restaurant, they were unable to handle the amount of people coming in, lots of people left before getting seated, the food was subpar at best, and they were completely unprofessional. I was really looking forward to dining here because a) my husband loves their crepes and it was Father's Day and, b) we had the best Original Pancake House in my hometown and loved their food and service.

We both agreed to never go back to this place. There are plenty of other great food spots that are amazing and courteous towards customers. Check out Omelette Cafe or Omelette House for awesome food and service! They are locally owned and every dish...

We had lots of trouble with a to go order... Their online platform doesn't allow for customization. For example, adding additional ingredients to a crepe or different style eggs on an eggs Benny. It's annoying and they try to deter call in orders with their automated call answering so I selected whatever option just to get through to someone. The biggest shock when we picked up the food was the to go order fee of 10%. Basically an enforced tip. Give me a break. Your business offers food for a price, and I will pay that price for food to go. You are not entitled to a tip on to go orders, though it is nice when people do tip. Tips are for service experience when dining in. This alone was reason enough to find another breakfast place in the future, but there were more issues to come... The food wasn't right and food was missing. None of the additions we paid for were added to two of the meals, the egg request was not done, and 2 meals didn't receive the hollandaise sauce. When I called, the girl who answered didn't even know what Hollindaise sauce was 😅 The manager took over and said they would remake the two dishes we initially caught that were wrong which was absolutely nice. Unfortunately I called too quick to realize a third entree was ALSO incorrect. But things get worse.... It seemed like the further we investigated the food and receipt, the more messed up it was. They charged us for potato pancakes that the menu said CAME WITH two of the meals (the third was more ambiguous and we accepted the charge), we also got charged for sourdough pancakes (I was told when I initially picked up the food they were added free for the inconvenience) but really they charged me for them even though I didn't order them in the first place (we ordered sourdough toast with the Traditional breakfast). When we got the new food and items we were missing, the eggs on the eggs Benny were STILL wrong lol I had to make eggs at home. Basically, we were charged extra for food that should have been included with our meals, and extra for the additional mushrooms that were never added to the meal. Mind you ALL of these little extra charges incured higher taxes and the 10% to go fee. There's like 8 bucks in money we should have been refunded, but I didn't bother calling back. The entire thing was juuuuuuust ridiculous and an f'ing joke.

If the mandatory tip on to go orders wasn't enough to stop me from going back (which is was) the UTTER mess up with the food and inputing of our order with additional fees was. Maybe a dine in experience would be better, but it's put such a bad taste in my mouth I wouldn't...

Let me start by saying this is my second time eating at this pancake house. The first time was good so I recommended we eat here today. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and after waiting only a few minutes we were seated. Our server Brian was pleasant. However, he failed to make or maintain any type of eye contact during our entire dining experience. A few minutes after receiving our food, we were presented with the bill. Which I thought was pretty odd because what if I wanted to add toast to my meal or get fresh fruit. I actually ended up ordering a glass of apple juice which he promptly brought out with a revised bill. As we continued to eat we were offered a to go box and we were not finished eating our meal. When it was time to pay my bill, the hostess asked about our food which was fine (but significantly over priced). I told her the service was not great and we felt very rushed. She told her manager, the lady in the checkered pants, and she was very dismissive. Instead of listening, she had a smart alec comeback for everything I had to say and told me that’s the way she runs her business and she’s been running it that way for 30 years. She then tried to offer us a 20% discount which I declined. She was actually offering another customer 20% off because there was lipstick on his glass. insert eye roll I paid my bill in full and then she tried to offer us A FREE PIECE OF BACON or five dollars off on our next visit. I apologized to my sister for bringing her there and I thanked the lady and told her I don’t need five dollars off because there won’t be a next time. Please don’t take your family there for a meal because you won’t be able to enjoy it. And you will be rushed throughout the entire dining experience......because that’s the way they do it. PS dear lady with the checkered pants. Please don’t assume that everyone who complains wants money or free food. People complain because they expect to be treated kindly when eating overpriced food.

Please see my review on YELP. Where I have attached a screenshot of the true response from the owner. I will forward this email to my attorney so he can explain what specific...
