This climbing gym has the means for training hard and that is what a gym is for. If you want additional training, silk classes, massage, free core workout classes, slack line fun that is set up regularly; and basically the focus is on the fun of the rock climber's lifestyle. All gyms have strict standards regarding safety and these vary and it is similar here. The great thing at NCC is that the focus is really on enjoying your visit. Other gyms are very intimidating to beginners (such as touchstone gyms) with less focus on having a good time and they forget the balance and the basic reason why we are out to visit a climbing gym. We go because we need a place to go have fun. At NCC, once you have acquired the necessary skill set, you get to have fun. That is what it is all about. Lisa and Ian work very hard behind the scenes to make the experience not only safe and an awesome climbing workout, but they also make it fun!. And after a hard day at work, I really appreciate just zoning out and chilling and getting a good workout and listening to good music etc... It...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible. The lady at the desk had the worse attitude in tarnation. It was the worse customer service I’ve ever had. She was helpful to everyone but us. None of the workers helped us when we were clearly confused. The lady at the desk said she would show us how to use them and help us when there were free ropes. Not only were we waiting for help and never got it. But when she said she needed free ropes there were multiple ropes already not being used. We had harnesses with our Groupon that she didn’t give us and we asked another worker for them and they also had attitude. The place was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable. It was unsanitary too. She sprayed the people before us shoe’s but didn’t spray ours. When she asked us if we ever had been rocking climbing before we had answered yes and seconds later she said with an attitude that she would need to show us how too because we didn’t know how. She was very uninterested in helping and made us uncomfortable. When we actually tried to use the ropes to climb she shouted at us that we shouldn’t be...
Read moreReally chill spot to climb. I walked in and old school Metallica was playing so right away I was enjoying myself. I am only just getting into bouldering so the majority of the routes were beyond my level of ability but there were a lot of routes even though the bouldering wall isn't super huge. The routes that I could climb were fun and challenging. I feel like it is more of a top-roping gym but I was solo so just bouldering, however I was wishing I had brought a partner and my harness to make it more worthwhile. The drop in fee was a little on the expensive side. One of the staff, Dave was super friendly and gave me some pointers and conversation which I appreciated because sometimes being an outsider at a new gym can be an isolating experience. The location is out of the way, so I was hoping there would be a shower there but there is not. Overall good times, I would recommend checking it out if you have wheels and even better if you have...
