Odds-n-Ends Consignment and Thrift — Local services in New Castle

Unfortunately I will not be shopping here again. I overheard the owner talking about how her son puts her business card into the negatives and she really needs to make money (which isn’t a red flag- I felt bad overhearing this) but THEN, the owner tried upcharging me $10 after consistently trying to sell me items or show me items I wasn’t interested in. I’ll break it down. This is the cost of my items and my tax, and total. This is what was displayed on the screen. I was okay with that, as I SAW the prices on the two items. Shirt-$5 Wall hanging-$20 Tax-$1.50 Total-$26.50 But then the owner told me to “look over at that chair” and in the corner of my eye, I saw her typing on her register (it’s electronic) and she goes “okay, $36.50!” And I look at her and ask “how did it go up from $26.50 to $36.50?” And she said “tax” which is weird because… $11.50 tax on two cheap items? Love this store!!! Could shop around in here for hours and the prices are always unbeatable for the finds! always a great experience when being taken care of by the staff! Owner is a very friendly nice young man! Will definitely be frequenting this place...
