Floyd Little Athletic Center — Attraction in New Haven

SO ANNOYED RIGHT NOW!!! We’re here this morning for an indoor track meet scheduled to begin at 9:00 am. At about 10 minutes before 9:00, everyone began getting out of their cars and entering the building. The large, open area in front of the tables where families pay to enter was filled with families, like 70-80 people. The guy behind the tables gets our attention and announces that security must “set up” so everyone needs to WAIT OUTSIDE until 9:00 sharp. It was -7 DEGREES outside and people were there with children of all ages! People informed him that it is freezing outside, made no difference. After standing out in the cold, we re-enter the building. Turns out that “set up” was nothing more than a security guard arriving to stand next to the tables!!!! That’s it, nothing more! I cannot believe it, totally inappropriate!!! What did this huge guy, over 6’ tall and maybe 300 lbs, think would happen if a bunch of families stayed inside before securit arrived? Overall, a really nice facility. Definitely dated a bit. We were here for a track meet. Parking was close by. Good amount of snow ave to sit. The seats were set back on the upper level. Security and police presence. Metal detectors, all staff was super friendly especially entering the building.

The bathrooms need to be updated. I walked into at least 4 stalls in the woman’s room that did not lock. Bathrooms were also not being taken care of. With the amount of people they had they should have had an attendant in there at all times.

Conveniently located near no major highway. Extremely limited parking with maybe 20 spots at most. Cars were all parking illegally to the point where you could barely drive through the lot. Buses forced to idle on the shoulder of the street. Then, once you get inside there's a guy charging admission with a tiny cash box. If you don't have any cash on you don't worry, there's an ATM down the street a ways, but good luck finding a place to park once you get back. Terrible experience made worse at every obstacle and I'm wondering if this is really the...
