Food missing, cold, poor quality, and rude staff are the quickest ways to describe Ladle and Loaf. We have "experienced" this restaurant 4 times now. Each time there has been an issue with the food or the service. Our first experience was met with cold chicken, zero seasoning, and a wait that was over 3 times the expected 30 minute window we were given. After that experience, I wrote the owners of the restaurant hoping to receive an apology or some sort of response. Radio silence. The rest of the experiences have been very similar but as a practicing Jewish person, I felt the need to not publicly shame someone else of the "tribe" until our experience on 10/10/2021. My wife went inside to pick up our online order. When she got into the car to check out the items, she saw something was missing and went inside. Upon doing so, the chef (who she believes is also the owner) went out of the kitchen to criticize her and literally inspected her bag to see whether she was lying or not. That is shameful and very sad. Having lived in the New Haven Jewish community, I've witnessed many kosher restaurants come and go due to poor food quality, inconsistency, and poor customer service. We REALLY had high hopes for this place, but don't expect much from...
Read moreLadle and Loaf is hands down one of the best kosher meat restaurants we’ve ever experienced! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. But the true magic happens when the food arrives. Every dish is bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection and arrives really quickly. Whether you’re sinking your teeth into their truffle burger or savoring their mouth-watering corn ribs, each bite is a testament to their dedication to quality and taste.
What makes Ladle and Loaf even more special is the heart and soul behind the food. The owners are truly righteous people. Their "hachnasat orchim" to people visiting the area, commitment to the community and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment makes every visit feel like more than just a meal—it’s an experience filled with love, care, and respect. They have a "thank you" note board up on the wall that is overflowing with drawings and notes of gratitude from happy customers.
If you’re looking for a place where the food is out of this world and the owners treat you like family, Ladle and Loaf is the place to be....
Read moreI am an active duty Navy Chaplain currently at Naval Station Newport, and I recently ordered a Shabbat meal from Ladle and Loaf. Benny and his team did a phenomenal job getting our order ready. They were more than happy to prepare us a meal so we could celebrate Shabbat with our fellow Jewish Chaplain. Not only was the food delicious, but Benny went above and beyond to make sure that all Kosher rules were followed so our Chaplain could eat the meal. Not only that, Benny sent the order over two hours away by driver to our base, at no cost to us. This kind of service is truly exceptional. He messaged me to make sure that the meal arrived, and was so kind. We are truly grateful for this amazing service, and hospitality so we could enjoy a Shabbat meal on base in fellowship with one another. We are thankful for Benny, and the entire Ladle and Loaf team for making this happen. Blessings to Ladle and Loaf! Hooyah Benny! Hooyah...
