Island Spice Restaurant — Restaurant in New Haven

Absolutely poor service. I placed my order ahead of time and my order still wasn't ready. I decided to change my order and the lady immediately caught an attitude. Tried to charge me for a medium ackee and saltfish but shared a size small portion. While having a attitude she end up dropping the container of food. I end up ordering a large oxtails(Extremely light on the hand for it to be a large). The guy who was infront of me who ordered oxtails, My Lord they were extremely heavy on the hand for him!! You're better off driving to Bridgeport for Jamaican Food....

The food was delicious (tender, spicy chicken), shelly rice (but where were the peas?) and the portions were large. I gave it 4 bc it lacked ambiance (seating area directly in front of restroom) and order (no indication of where to order, where to pay, and the menu was next to the bathroom). Also I hate being told "we have no x", x being salad, curry goat, fried fish or roti. Restaurants need to be in stock at all times, especially at lunch time. A good indicator of the restaurant quality though is it...

I called ahead to order a brown stew snapper over rice n peas, the lady said its already ready....from then i knew i was gonna be served garbage but i still gave them a chance...waited for about 25 min inside the place for my food that they said was ready....these ppl are so slow and un organized, i got the brown stew fish and the fish was orange, cold and tasteless the rice was cold and the plantains were dry as ever, i paid 19 dollars for trash gutter food...jamaicans...
