This book store is amazing in every way. The walls, decor , literature , the plants and of course sugar. I wish there was a place growing up like this near me. I loved reading as a kid and young adult. I have take breaks and then jump back in to devour books. This place also offers events and has a book club. I truly love it. Attended an open event for all discussing Fred M from who was a part of the Black Panther organization and dissected poetry. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere. Diverse group of people with many different backgrounds in one room discussing literature, sharing their work and laughing. I love the owner as well. Read more1st visit: fell in love with the place. Walking distafrom home, excellent for my children and I to get exercise and some books. My daughter has been reading one of her books waking to tell me, she wishes this book would never end. This store seemingly small has exceptional titles and authors. I know my daughter will be asking to return before finishing her 3 books. My son has his two books, but was more interested in the gifts around the store. Read moreI love the rich selection and its focus on unrepresented authors, but when I wanted a title that wasn't readily available in the shop, there was no issue at in putting in the order for me. I also greatly appreciate how its as much a community setting as it is a shop. I live nearby, so a few times I've popped in just to relax and read, with absolutely no pressure to purchase anything. Plus, the owner Lauren Anderson is doing fantastic work with outreach and building connections across the city.
