Our daughter's only ask for her 16th birthday was to come to New Orleans and go to the BK house and the convent across the street from it. We drove 3 hours to get here. We even planned our leave time around their tour times. The BK house was closed for a "private event" all day for two days solid without any notice posted anywhere on their website. We have already seen the Hermann-Grima and Gallier houses and had no interest in seeing them again. It completely ruined what was supposed to be her Sweet 16. It should be illegal to privately book out historical sites. It's certainly unethical to use money to hoard a building of public, local, and historical significance. Read moreAbsolutely incredible! My brother and I were recently given the gracious opportunity to visit BK House and gardens on a day it was actually closed to the public. Nia was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions and shared fascinating stories about the many families who have lived in the house over the centuries. Her extensive knowledge of the home's history and architecture truly brought it to life.

Read moreI passed this place by chance when I was in a ghost tour group but very curious about another side of history as the house was different than actual architecture in French quarter.
I visited the hour as the tour starts every hour. I dropped by earlier like 10 mins before 11am and bought a tour which was totally beyond the expectation. I had Caroline (not sure if I spelled her name right) as my guide. I was alone on the tour. Caroline was very informative and answered every question I had. The house had the long and impressive story. I was glad to hear that the house wss brought for preservation from being demolished.
The tour was about an hour and it was totally worth it for $10.
Highly recommended especially those who are interested in architecture and history of...
