Nestled in the heart of the vibrant French Quarter of New Orleans, the Court of Two Sisters is a culinary haven where history, jazz, and delicious flavors converge. This iconic venue played host to our recent Duke Fuqua School of Business (GEMBA) college reunion, and it was an experience worth cherishing. In this post, I'll take you through our delightful journey at this elegant establishment, where reservations, live jazz, and a delectable buffet make for an unforgettable dining experience.
A Buffet of Culinary Delights One of the highlights of dining at the Court of Two Sisters is their expansive buffet, offering a wide variety of tastings that cater to every palate. From classic Creole dishes to international flavors, the buffet is a treasure trove of culinary delights.
As we perused the offerings, we couldn't help but be impressed by the variety and quality of the dishes. The seafood gumbo was rich and flavorful, the jambalaya was a perfect blend of spices, and the crawfish étouffée was a true taste of Louisiana. Vegetarians in our group were equally pleased with the diverse selection of salads and vegetarian-friendly options.
The dessert section was equally tempting, with an array of sweet treats that included pralines, bread pudding, and beignets. Trust me; you won't leave this place with an empty stomach!
Jazzing Up Your Brunch One of the unique aspects of dining at the Court of Two Sisters is the live jazz music that accompanies your meal. The soothing melodies of jazz create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that perfectly complements the meal.
As we dined, a talented jazz ensemble serenaded us with their soulful tunes. It's not every day that you get to enjoy brunch with live jazz music, and it truly elevated our dining experience. The music added a touch of sophistication and charm to an already elegant venue.
An Ideal Venue for Special Occasions The Court of Two Sisters exudes an air of elegance and is the perfect setting for various special occasions. Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, hosting a wedding party, marking a birthday, or reuniting with old friends, this venue sets the stage for memorable moments.
The beautiful courtyard, adorned with lush greenery and blooming flowers, provides a picturesque backdrop for your celebrations. The staff is attentive to your needs, making sure every detail is taken care of to ensure your event is a success.
A Taste of History Beyond the exquisite food and live jazz, the Court of Two Sisters boasts a rich history that adds to its allure. The name itself pays homage to the sisters who once lived in the property, Emma and Bertha Camors. These two sisters were known for their gracious hospitality and culinary talents, a tradition that continues today at the restaurant.
The historic courtyard, dating back to the 18th century, is a serene oasis in the heart of the bustling French Quarter. Walking through this courtyard feels like stepping back in time, and you can't help but appreciate the sense of history that permeates the place.
Exceptional Service In addition to the delightful food, the impeccable service at the Court of Two Sisters is worth highlighting. Our server was not only attentive but also highly professional and courteous. They made us feel welcome and ensured that our dining experience was flawless.
In conclusion, our visit to the Court of Two Sisters was a culinary journey through the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. From the moment we made our reservations to the last bite of dessert, every aspect of the experience was exceptional. If you're seeking an elegant venue with a rich history, delectable cuisine, live jazz, and top-notch service for your special occasions, the Court of Two Sisters should be at the top of your...
Read moreIf you’re visiting New Orleans and looking for a food and music experience that truly captures the spirit of the city, you cannot miss the Jazz Brunch at The Court of Two Sisters. It’s not just a meal, it’s a whole experience, one that blends the best of New Orleans cuisine with the charm of live jazz in a setting that feels magical. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Tucked away in the French Quarter, the courtyard is breathtaking with its cobblestone flooring, hanging greenery, and string lights that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Sitting outside under the trees while listening to live jazz is something you’ll remember forever. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, with that unmistakable New Orleans vibe, welcoming, lively, and full of character. Now let’s talk about the food, because that’s the real star here. The Jazz Brunch is a buffet-style feast, and I don’t use the word “feast” lightly. There is so much variety that it’s almost impossible to try everything in one sitting, but it’s fun to try. The buffet features both traditional breakfast favorites and local New Orleans classics. You can start with made-to-order omelets, fluffy eggs, bacon, sausage, and grits, then move on to heartier items like jambalaya, shrimp étouffée, and crawfish pasta. The gumbo deserves a special mention, it’s rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Pair it with a piece of warm French bread and you’re in heaven. And then there are the carving stations, where you can get juicy roast beef or ham sliced fresh. Everything is seasoned beautifully and served hot, which isn’t always the case with buffets, but here they nail it. Of course, no brunch in New Orleans would be complete without something sweet. The bread pudding with whiskey sauce is out of this world, soft, warm, and decadent with just the right kick from the sauce. They also offer fresh fruit, pastries, and little desserts that are perfect for sampling. It’s the kind of buffet where you keep going back for “just one more bite” because everything tastes so good. And then, while you’re eating all of this, you’re treated to live jazz played by talented local musicians. It’s not too loud or intrusive, it’s the perfect background music, setting the tone for a laid-back, joyful brunch. Hearing classics played while you’re sipping coffee or a mimosa just adds to the magic of the experience. It feels like the true heart of New Orleans: food, music, and good company all together. The service is also top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick to clear plates or refill drinks. Even with the restaurant being busy (and it usually is), they manage to make you feel taken care of without rushing you. They give you space to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, which makes the whole brunch feel even more special. One thing to note, it’s a popular spot, so I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. It fills up quickly, especially on weekends, and you don’t want to miss the chance to sit in that gorgeous courtyard. To sum it up, the Jazz Brunch at The Court of Two Sisters is a New Orleans must-do. The setting is beautiful, the food is abundant and delicious, the jazz creates the perfect soundtrack, and the service makes you feel welcome from start to finish. It’s not just a brunch, it’s a slice of New Orleans culture served on a plate. If you want a memorable meal that combines history, atmosphere, music, and amazing food, this is it. The Court of Two Sisters captures the soul of the city in the best...

Went here to celebrate my GF’s birthday and after looking at multiple restaurants I landed on this place because the outdoor patio looked beautiful ( which it is btw).
We arrived early for our reservation at 7:30, but then we’re left forgotten until the host called me up and apologizes after 30 mins go by.
While we were waiting we got two drinks from the bar. My GF tastes her drink and points out it tastes like vodka and lime even though it was meant to be a mojito with vodka essentially. She points out that it’s missing simple syrup, which we tell the bartender who then quietly whispers to her trainer, “is it supposed to have simple syrup?” and realizes she forgot it while also telling my GF that it has it and other drinks similar will taste like the drink she made. After grabbing the same one as mine we finally get seated 30min later.
Once we got seated we brush it off and thought positive. The server comes over and says hi. Unfortunately it’s another 20min before she comes to take our order and another 30mim before we receive our first course. She comes over by apologizing and handing us a complimentary gumbo. She didn’t ask if we had any dietary restrictions because my gf doesn’t eat pork so she couldn’t even enjoy it. We finally receive the Caesar salad we ordered, but it was only after my GF mentioned it to the server. Once we receive our first course the server incorrectly gives me the wrong item as I had ordered the turtle soup and not the mushroom dish that my GF had ordered. After that, we finally receive our entree and this is where it was the last straw. I ordered the chicken which was great and my GF ordered the truffle fries and steak. They forgot a steak knife and to add in the truffle oil on the fries which were bland and stale. When we pointed this out to the server she responded with, “ what’s truffle?” And after asking more about it she proceeded to bring a bowl of truffle oil to use on the side. At this point we decided to end the dinner by talking to the manager about all the issues we experienced. After he profusely apologized and offered us a few options we decided to just end the experience there and leave. We didn’t want to continue after 2 hours went by and we barely just got our main course. We didn’t even mention how the general staff on the floor kept dropping cups or looked angry as they passed the floor. At one point we saw two food runners arguing with each other in the middle of the courtyard. We also didn’t bring it up when they brought us bread with no plates. The manager told us the server was new and so was the course but to not know what truffle is, signals red flags for a servers training and experience. Overall we told the manager we held no grudges against our server as she was polite and tried it was just the overall series of issues that was too much for us.
Do I recommend this place? Ehh not right now, maybe with more staff training and better communication and support from UPPER MANAGEMENT. But this place has a lot of potential. This is coming from 2 former servers who’ve worked in places...
