This is just a beautiful space when there is nothing going on. Statues, large shade trees, benches, a place for bikes. Now, with events that happen here make it a GREAT space. I've been here for a few events. The last was the 2016 BBQ and Blues Festival (Saturday). I saw and heard some great musicians. They had venors with super art and craft things, tee shirts, booze and beers. Some great places had food, but i didnt have a chance to sample. THE MUSIC: Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen were awesome with their blues New Orleans tinged sound. It rocked, it had soul, it had feel. The crowd was into it and jammed along. The headliner was Taj Mahal. He is an old timey blues man, a multi instrumentalist. It was soulful, and laid back. Just beautiful to the ear. There was an artist on stage who painted a portrait of Taj during the set. It was auctioned off for charity after the set. I love...

FREE music and often many FREE beer, wine, and liquor options!!! Ok so there are different groups that do it depending on the time of year and they try to call it different things but since I'm the boss of fun and proper English descriptions of things I'm mandating that they all just be called Wednesday at the Square as that is the best description. What isn't to like about these Spring and Fall events that brings all sorts of fun loving people into Lafayette Square after work for a fun filled afternoon that usually turns into a longer night that leads to a bit of a hazy Thursday. There are great food options, local vendors of all sorts of crafts and other goods. Wednesday's on the Square is just like our own little old school Jazz Fest that we get to enjoy for nearly half the year at the great price of FREE :)

My video review of Wednesday at the Square is...
