What a refreshing, modern, unassuming one of a kind gallery found within the stuffy Julia St. art district in New Orleans. Ariodante Contemporary Craft Gallery is a true treasure chest of unique wares to choose from. Their collection of art is supplied by various local artists who’s range vary in talent and medium choice. All works are very unique and priced reasonably. The gallery is maintained/managed by a marvelous curator, Laurie. She obviously knows the artist and their works. She does her very best for customers by making sure that works selected to be sold in the shop are what customers are looking for before they even know what they’ll love. I found and purchased a lovely Cuban-box sliver bracelet that I didn’t know I needed until she informed about the artist and his pieces; further she explained the talent needed to make said bracelet and she contacted the artist for further information about the bracelet. I have long been acquainted and certainly a fan of this unique Gallery, dating back from the years when I had my own career in the Salon and Fashion industry of the Crescent City. For over a decade now, I began to realize the dream of early childhood aspirations. To become established and recognized as an "artist", selling my hand crafted Mardi Gras jewelry and other related art pieces. I am grateful to have acquired the opportunity and experience with all of good and noble endeavors in which Ariodante has developed in helping the New Orleans econom, including the goodwill and supporting of other deserving businesses within the City. As a member of this impressive array of superb craftsmen and artists I am happy to have acquired a personal satisfaction satisfaction for the city I love so dearly. Incredible service, wonderful artists, wide variety of price points… My home art was almost entirely framed posters before getting to know Laurie and Deyette, and I was a little anxious about having unsophisticated tastes. NOT a problem. They have been unfailingly kind and encouraging. No complaints except that I am finding too many beautiful things at their gallery (laughing) AND they ship and offer lay-away.
