TLDR; The staff, especially Byron and Thaddeus, were extremely professional and friendly. Byron was also able to recall my stay and resolve a billing issue in seconds nearly two weeks after my stay. Thaddeus was extremely knowledgeable of the local area and was a great conversationalist with excellent recommendations while executing his job flawlessly during breakfast service. The rooms and décor are beautiful, and the pictures DO NOT do this place justice. The service is great with fresh cookies at night, free wine and charcuterie in the afternoon, an Honor bar system ($10 per cocktail!), and a secret entrance to a boutique cocktail bar.||Long review:|As an avid traveler having stayed in many luxury or boutique hotels/properties in the US and across Europe, I've never felt as compelled to write a review for a hotel as I have now. Not only is the property as beautiful and luxurious as somewhere like any Ritz or Four Seasons, the service and staff, specifically Byron and Thaddeus, are exceptional.||Check in - At first, as a major city dweller, the hotel seems unassuming with its Haussmannian style architecture. The entrance is locked which is confusing at first, but speaks to the privacy of the hotel. With only 5 floors with about 12 rooms on each floor, the doors stay locked to ensure only hotel guests have access. There's an intercom system with which the staff buzzes you in for initial check-in, and the hotel parking restriction in front of the building makes it extremely easy to just pull over and get out without having to worry about finding street parking (note: if you're not valet parking, you will probably have to move your car after checking in).||We were greeted by Byron for check-in, and were provided a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room as part of our 'The Edit' benefit through Chase Sapphire Reserve. Byron was extremely professional, but also very friendly and genuine. This was a breath of fresh air from the usual level of affectation that most luxury hotel staff afford to a guest's feeling of self importance. Byron was also very knowledgeable about the property and the benefits afforded with the Chase partner program, and explained everything very clearly.||The Rooms - The rooms in this hotel are BEAUTIFUL. Tons of natural light with blackout curtains, TALL ceilings, extremely comfortable beds and bedding, gorgeous furniture and decor, and an absolutely life-goals bathroom with a separate tub and shower. Compared to most brand-name luxury hotels, this feels a lot brighter and a lot more homey.||Services & Amenities - While the hotel does have access to a pool and fitness center, it is not in the building, but right across the street at the sister property. There is food service available 24/7, an attached secret door to a classy cocktail bar Salon Salon, and services provided in the lobby to include free wine and charcuterie, free fresh cookies, and an honor bar system which is $10 per cocktail. Valet parking is available for $50 a night, and takes roughly 15-20 minutes for the car to arrive.||Check-Out - Unfortunately, Byron was not around during my check-out which led to some clerical errors. I received an invoice with a balance for my pre-paid stay, and was subsequently charged twice for my stay. While I argued for weeks with Chase, I decided to give the hotel a call. Luckily, Byron answered the phone and just by giving him my name, he was able to find my stay, identify the issue, and resolve it before I had even finished expressing my concern. He allowed me to finish speaking, and confirmed he made the necessary corrections to resolve the issue. Byron definitely saved the day and made this stay one of the most memorable I've...
Read moreWe recently visited New Orleans and stayed at the amazing Maison Métier! Loved our stay here! Such an absolutely gorgeous and very small boutique hotel!! Close to everything but not on Bourbon Street which was the perfect spot for me! Great staff, everyone was pleasant, smiling and happy. Such a welcoming feeling and atmosphere! We stayed one night the Saturday before the Super Bowl. There were for of us adults (my husband and myself, 22 year old daughter and 18 year old son.).
Check in was quick and easy; we were told all the pertinent information during our check in such as the different offerings included during our stay like the complimentary evening wine & cheese, cookies later afternoon, and what time breakfast was and where it would be located. They also told us about and showed us the Speakeasy, how it works as well as what was behind the hidden door which is a reservation only restaurant. So cool!
After check in was completed and we went upstairs, dropped our bags, left and went out for a few hours and then went back to the hotel to relax. The room was gorgeous, unique and very welcoming and comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful with a large soaking tub. Great colors, fun design! Overall a very nice room! In hindsight we had a 2 double bed room which was fine but next time I would want the kids to have separate beds just because they’re too old to be sharing. The small sofa in the room wasn’t big enough to sleep on so no extra bed there which we originally thought we might be able to do. When we returned from dinner turndown service had completed and we were left some macrons that my 22 year old daughter was so excited about lol. She said they were delicious. Such a sweet surprise and a very nice touch!
The next morning my daughter and I went downstairs for breakfast. We went to where it was supposed to be and there is an absolutely gorgeous breakfast room that you sit in for breakfast. We ordered from the menu. So many great options it was hard to decide! The breakfast my daughter and I had was amazing!! The best pancakes I ever had and she said her salmon Benedict (she subbed salmon for ham) was also the best she ever had! Their coffee was delicious and I had 2 cups :). It seems there was also a second breakfast type set up was completed and saw it in the way out. It was an amazing spread that my husband eventually came downstairs and took advantage of. I took a video of it and it seemed to be an amazing variety and really appealing and my husband said it was great! Our server Thaddeus was amazing!! Btw, he mentioned that we could also go next door to The Barnett if we wanted anything from the cafe there we - could charge it to our room so we could take advantage of that as well. That sounded great to my daughter and I so when my husband headed down for breakfast, we headed to the cafe for some coffee and really just to check it out.
Lots of little touches throughout that make such a big difference in the experience - self-service pistachios in the lobby area, candy bowl on the check in desk. Plus, all the snacks and treats throughout your stay do truly make Maison Métier a place that makes me feel like they know we’re there and want to take care of us.
Also an available amenity I found out about- coffee delivered to the room in the morning, complimentary, which would be amazing as I am the only person who drinks hot coffee and I would have been in heaven. I didn’t have the opportunity to take advantage but certainly will next time!
Please do not hesitate even for a moment to book this hotel! I would absolutely recommend a stay here. We loved it and will definitely be going...
Read moreWe booked this hotel stay through Chase bank "The Edit" travel booking site paying a total of $470.45. For that amount we were to get our room, $100 property credit, and breakfast for two the next morning. At the time of booking there was no information stating the hotel would add a "junk" fee of a destination charge. Also the Chase website indicated we would receive Hyatt point so we included our Hyatt number. Since we currently have the EXPLORIST status we assumed we would recieve Hyatt points, just like we do when booking through American Express selecting their fine hotel program. We checked into the Maison Metier on January 23, 2025 and were welcomed by Leo and Madonna. Later in the day we met a lady whose name I think was Christina. We were told about the wine and cheese reception that evening which we attended. We enjoyed the reception and found our room #35 was clean and well appointed. We also asked for and were given late check out.||||Our breakfast was adequate and we signed the ticket and saw our first sign of junk fees when we could see a "service" charge on the bill and also a line for a tip.||||At check out I asked if they did have our Hyatt number and I was told we would only recieve Hyatt points for incidentals because we had booked through a third party site. While we feel misrepresented by Chase on this, we did not question it with the hotel staff. The hotel knew we were purchasing a bottle of liquor from the mini bar but told us we could not recieve a final bill until they had done an audit of the room.||||We proceeded to the airport and in checking our email we recieved our final bill. We were shocked to see the junk destination fee and taxes on it for $29.05. I did not challenge the destination fee with the hotel because it was misrepresented by Chase. I have filed a complaint with Chase about this misrepresentation. I did call back to Leo at the hotel about the $215.74 mini bar charge. The liquor we bought was priced on the room menu at $165.00. We knew even with sales tax added it would not go up an extra $50.74. Leo could not givee us a breakdown on the charges but handed the phone to the manager. He explained that included a charge just to use the mini bar. I told him that was absolutely ridiculous and he agreed to remove the charge. He too could not give us an accurate breakdown of the mini bar charges. Shortly after ending the call he emailed a new bill crediting us for $33.00 which we assume is the charge to use the mini bar. We have to assume we were charged correctly $165 for the liquor and $17.74 for sales tax.||||On the final folio from the hotel, at the bottom, under World of Hyatt summary it show $42.74 is an redemption eligible. Not sure what that means but we did recieve 1255 Hyatt points.||||We spend over 150 nights in hotels every year. We have Hilton Gold, IHG diamond, and Hyatt Explorist statu and we are very familiar with hotels. We feel very betrayed by the deceitful and basically fraudulent practice of this hotel's hidden junk fees which they add to customer's accounts. We saw nothing in the hotel disclosing they chargee $33.00 just to use the minibar whose contents have already inflated pricing. There is also nothing in the restaurant disclosing they add an extra service charge in addition to the server's tip.||||Before the billing issue we had discussed with the staff about mving our upcoming Mardi Gras and French Quarter festival reservations to use this hotel. We also discussed having a family reunion, but after seeing their deceptive pricing practices we would never stay...
