Our family hosted a picture perfect rehearsal dinner in the Grande Hall at Ye Ole College Inn in the Garden District of New Orleans. While our party was 60 people, the room holds close to double that amount. Shey was our events coordinator and she made everything easy since we were planning from out of town. Our son met his bride at Tulane, so this was a sentimental spot to have the rehearsal dinner. The turnkey packages are especially great if you are from out of town as the food, beverage, service, linens, and gratutity are all inclusive. There was no problem in adding our special touches with flowers, custom napkin and napkin rings which were easily ordered and delivered from Amazon, delivered to Shey for safekeeping until our event. Like I said, this entire experience was first rate, easy, with great attention to detail. The food was delicious, the bar was inviting, servers friendly, and our guests all had a great time. We received many rave reviews from our guests. An added benefit was having backdoor access to the Rock n' Bowl when the evening concluded at 9pm. Young and old alike enjoyed dancing and having some fun the night before the wedding. I can highly recommend this as a venue for an event like a rehearsal dinner. For your review, I have included pictures of our special evening. Thank you to Shey and her team of exceptionally attentive and friendly people.

Rock 'n' Bowl is more than just a bowling alley; it's a vibrant cultural hotspot in New Orleans that seamlessly blends the city's love for music, food, and fun. Imagine bowling to the sounds of zydeco and swing music, with a lively atmosphere and decor that exudes authentic gaudiness. On Tuesdays, you can swing dance, while Wednesdays and Thursdays are dedicated to zydeco, and the weekends feature a diverse lineup of performers. Booking a lane is straightforward, with reservations available for up to six people per lane. The full kitchen and bar, featuring the Front Porch Grill, ensure you won't go hungry or thirsty, offering everything from pub grub to New Orleans favorites. Murals by Tony Green add to its charm, making Rock 'n' Bowl a true New Orleans gem that perfectly captures the city's lively essence.

This is Mid City Lanes. On Saturday nights, and throughout the week they have live music and various activities. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the music. The place was clean and the crowd was having fun. The staff was competent, not overly friendly, but hey it was a Saturday night. I can’t give it five stars because I had two drinks from the bar and they were both awful. They were not complicated, rum and cranberry (that tasted like maybe it was made with an awful gin) and an amaretto and pineapple ( who puts soda in an amaretto and pineapple?) I can only guess they were not paying attention. I’ll probably go back, will probably skip the bar.

I was really excited to go here but it was really a let down. Bowling has always been a less expensive outing, but not here! The atmosphere was great and the place was clean so that warrants the 2 stars but the rest of the experience just so expensive, I couldn't even focus on having fun. TLDR: everything is really expensive. Wanna spend about $75+ on a few hours of bowling? This is the place for you! First we had to pay a cover for the band, who didn't even play during the time we were there. I asked for my cover back which luckily they gave me after I asked nicely. Then the actual bowling was priced at $24 per hour! and shoes weren't included! The hour starts right when you pay also, so better put your shoes on and find a ball quick! Bathroom breaks? They don't pause the timer for those either. We didn't even get to finish our last game because time ran out. The time limit made it more about going fast than about concentrating on the skill. Then the ball situation: they don't have designated shelving for the balls that is accessible to everybody. They are just right there on your lane or under the ball return. So that means if you are looking for a ball that isn't in your lane, you have to go interrupt others, wasting bits of their $24 hour to find the right size ball. Lastly, the food/beer prices. I get that you have a captive audience and can therefore charge whatever you want for food and drinks, but this place was way overpriced. I bought 2 beers for my bf and I and paid way too much. Unless you are wanting to drink mass produced slightly alcoholic water, don't even think about beer here. We thought about ordering food, but it was so expensive just for the apps that we just decided to go elsewhere. Not to mention, do they turn off the timer while you're eating? I guess you have to eat...

For my first visit to Rock n' Bowl, I had a terrible experience. we went bowling for my sons birthday party and called ahead, they informed me that they were booked and to come at 7:00 pm. We arrived at about 6:40 pm and had to reserve two lanes. We were told to provide them with a phone number and once our lanes were available they would give us a call. We were not informed we could not leave the building at no time. Not to mention there were several lanes open and only a few being used. While we waited we went across the street to get some snacks. When we returned we were rudely stopped and told that because it was 7:00 pm we had to pay a $10.00 cover charge because they hired a live band. I informed them that we had already been there before 7:00 pm and we all 8 of us were on a waiting list. The "manager" stated that regardless of what time we put our names on the waiting list, there is still a $10.00 cover charge to come in past 7:00 pm. Contrary to their sign that said cover charge at 8:00 pm, and at least 3 other people walked right in without being stopped and checked for a stamp. Instead of exhibiting professionalism and manners and realizing the miss communication the manager decided to argue with me the customer. she then verified that we indeed had been placed on the waiting and offered a reduced rate of $5.00 per person. Any place of business would have never turned good business away. Instead this "manager" argued with me and refused to honor my previous arrival. I will never visit this establishment again and I will encourage all to stay away. I will be sending an email to all my military contacts of my experience. We ended up at All Stars bowling alley and...

I had been here last year for zydeco dancing and it was a lot of fun. However, if you do go on a Thursday night for their advertised zydeco, and you call ahead and ask them if, in fact, they have Zydeco, make sure to specifically ask if they will be putting the Zydeco into their back room. Tonight, they had a special concert, so they moved to it to a separate building. In this building, they had a textured, painted, cement floor. It was very difficult to dance on this floor. I talked to the manager and asked him if I could get a refund because I was going to leave. He refused, saying that I could just take my shoes off. One cannot dance in bare feet on a textured floor. Beyond that, dancing in bare feet on cement is extremely painful. Leaving all of that aside, dancing on any cement is extremely hard on the back. Many people are here this week for jazz fest. In fact, I didn't go to Jazz Fest today, specifically to go zydeco dancing tonight. Not only was I out the $20 admission, but I had thrown away my $75 jazzfest ticket to go dancing. The least he could have done was refunded my $20 admission. I am now waiting for my bus so that I can take over an hour to return to my hotel after taking over an hour to get to rock 'n bowl, only to throw away my money. Customer service is not their strength. Is $20 really that important to keep from someone wasn't going to stay?...
