It's a park designed for Kayaks, SUP boards and Canoe launching. But nearly everytime I go which is quite often someone decides to launch an actual boat. It's even worse on weekends when you have to wait for 3-4 boats to launch before you can even launch your kayak. Then when your launching another boat or two is complaining because you don't have a drive on trailer. Other then that the park is nice; plenty of parking and shade up near the entrance as long as you get there before all the boats do.

It's super easy to navigate on kayak. 🐬 dolphins come thru. It is so pretty and peaceful. Have a fishing license but not a pole. So did old-fashioned "can" 🎣! Didn't catch a thing, basically fed the fish. It stinks really bad at low tide.

It can smell a little bit funky but, it's a great way to access the intercoastal waterways. See some wildlife close up: Birds, crab, fish, etc Go at low tide and watch all the crabs doing crab business

The park looks nice and gives you access the water for a kayaking. The launch area is a horror. We got there at low tide and most of the area was so muddy and slippery that you couldn't use it to launch. But the real horror started when we came back. We had been kayaking for more than 2 hours so when we return to the launch spot the tide had risen considerably and it appeared that we would have an easy time getting back on shore, but appearances can be deceiving. My wife and I were on a tandem kayak and we approached the beach head on the Southside of the small beachfront. I don't know what we stepped into but neither myself or my wife could navigate getting ourselves out of that almost like quicksand material. We had gotten off the kayak and everywhere we stepped we just sank, we needed assistance from other people there to get ourselves out of the "water". ...

Great place to put in a kayak. To the left you have all of the mangrove filled brackish inlets, to the right you have the ocean. If you choose to kayak into the ocean, you may want to select a day with less boating activity as the channel is fairly active. There are lots of dolphins playing. Also, lots of jellyfish. There's an island in the ocean you can kayak to and walk around. Bring insect repellent. There are also little canals you can kayak the island that you can kayak in with heavy mangrove cover. There are two shipwrecked boats surrounding the island as well. On your way back from the island to the launch site you will be heading downstream which, once you are free of the channel,...
