The park looks nice and gives you access the water for a kayaking. The launch area is a horror. We got there at low tide and most of the area was so muddy and slippery that you couldn't use it to launch. But the real horror started when we came back. We had been kayaking for more than 2 hours so when we return to the launch spot the tide had risen considerably and it appeared that we would have an easy time getting back on shore, but appearances can be deceiving. My wife and I were on a tandem kayak and we approached the beach head on the Southside of the small beachfront. I don't know what we stepped into but neither myself or my wife could navigate getting ourselves out of that almost like quicksand material. If you choose to kayak into the ocean, you may want to select a day with less boating activity as the channel is fairly active. There are lots of dolphins playing. Also, lots of jellyfish. There's an island in the ocean you can kayak to and walk around. Bring insect repellent. There are also little canals you can kayak the island that you can kayak in with heavy mangrove cover. It's even worse on weekends when you have to wait for 3-4 boats to launch before you can even launch your kayak.
