I love Flagler Beach and all around the area, it is always so clean anywhere in New Smyrna Beach and the town is well kept at all times! I take pride in being a NSB local because it's such an amazing area, definitely one of my favorite towns in the entire country! I travel all the time and I will say NSB is similar to Ocean Beach in Cali. Same small town vibe, beautiful people, great local businesses & restaurants. The Beachfront is beautiful with 5 bathrooms on each side for male and female and they are always very clean! There are also 3 showers on both east and west walls, 3 more showers right before the 5 steps that take you to the beach and Atlantic Ocean! Lifeguard is on duty from 8am to 7pm, you may drive & Park on the beach for $20 day pass and they offer yearly/annual passes. My combo pass gets me in all county parks/Beach, Volusia County parking on Flagler Beach entrance ONLY for the entire yr for residents cost me $55 one time charge. I recommend everyone in the area to go check out NSB at Flagler Beach entrance, you'll definitely...
Read moreI LOVE New Smyrna It is so quaint. The beach is awesome, flat sand (Cars ride on the beach so be careful)
There are sooo many little shops and restaurants and bars when you are striding towards the beach
We happened to go because there was a jazz festival going on.
PROBLEM with the festival was most of the groups were inside certain restaurants/ bars Very few just playing in the open like a "regular" festival.
BUT, we went to LUMA'S it is an outdoor coffee shop with tables and swings.
I loved this little gem The young baristas were awesome.
Since those who follow me know my husband is a Coffee connoisseur (and we've been known to go to many, many coffee shops known in Volusia County)
I am a Coffee Teeterler and I still have trouble figuring out what coffee I like to taste
Anyway, we had a great time and if you're local (Daytona, Ormond) especially a tourist, This is a MUST on your list to travel...
Read moreWe wanted a beach day during our Florida visit and a friend suggested this beach instead of Daytona. We were very happy with this advice! What a great beach! The closest part of the beach as you walk out to the ocean is hard enough to drive on, so there's a lot of cars parked there while other cars often drive by (an ice cream truck even stopped for a visit!). As you move towards the ocean the sand is still a bit firm but you can dig in it and place your chair and umbrella there. Once you reach the ocean, the sand is soft and the water is clear. Another nice aspect is the shopping that is within walking distance of this area. Please support local businesses! The only small negative was the restroom which was dirty, so be prepared for that possibility. Parking was $25 for the day in the attached lot but there are probably cheaper areas to park if you wish to walk a bit...
