Very cool place to visit and very glad that I did. I'd certainly return if I'm back in town. Loved the history of the town including the Glockenspiel. After getting in town I spent a bit of time looking at Google Maps for historical places, monuments, etc. This was one of the things I discovered and had on my list to stop by and check out.
Really wanted to have been here at one of the designated times to be able to listen to the music. I thought the amount of detail in the Glockenspiel was amazing including all of the various statues and figurines. If I were able to return to New Ulm for working at our Corporate Office I would certainly try to take lunch or even an extra break to run over here to...
Read moreWe stopped by here while we were in New Ulm (we were camping near here). This was kind of neat but the Glockenspiel only does shows every two hours. So we basically ran down there to there on the hour then found out that the shows were only every two hours.
As a results we never actually got to see it run. There are some picnic benches near here if you want to hang out for a bit.
I guess if you are in New Ulm for something else stop by and take a look at it. I wouldn't make a separate trip...
Read moreSuch a wonderful, historical, and cultural attraction to see and hear when you are in the New Ulm area. The Glockenspiel is pretty impressive, standing at 45 feet tall. It features 37 bells in the tower that play a tune everyday at Noon, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, and 6pm. There is some seating by the tower to sit and enjoy the tunes playing. Definitely worth a visit...
