Alley Pond Adventure Course — Attraction in New York

If you’re looking for the most fun you can have for free at Alley Pond (besides walking your dog, having picnics, or playing cricket or flag football), look no further than the Adventure Course!

A huge shout-out to Lana, Julie, and the amazing staff who make it all possible for us Queens residents every Sunday. They’re some of the most supportive, high-energy people you’ll ever meet — cheering you on through every twist, climb, and leap of your adventure!

One of the best parts? It’s “adventure by choice.” That means if you’re not quite ready to face your fear of heights, no worries and no judgment — you can always stick to the ground challenges and still have a blast.

Depending on the day, you might experience low or high elements. If you’re easing into it or just testing the waters, the low elements are perfect. But if you’re ready to conquer heights, strap on that harness and take on the high elements — climbing poles, balancing on wooden planks, or tackling rope obstacles like a pro!

What a hidden gem on NYC! You came here to register for the morning program at 9:30am or 1pm for the afternoon session. Each session can hold about 25 people or so. At 10am or 1:30pm respectively you are then split up into smaller groups. A park ranger takes the small group through a series of small team building exercises and warm up activities on the ground for maybe an hour.

Then you gear up and then ascend to one of the high rise activities that requires climbing up and balancing on some element. This might be a zip line, a high rope course, a rock climbing wall or else. There are many high elevation activities but you get to do only one (and you can't choose). It takes about another hour for the activity as each individual in the group takes a single turn. At all times you are secured to a belay and are safe.

We did the morning session, went out for lunch and came back for the afternoon session so basically spent the whole day there.

Where do I start?!!!!!! I am writing this review with happiness in my heart I came to Alley Pond Adventure Course not knowing what I was getting my self into.My children and I was Greeted by Tiffany which she was soooooo sweet, helpful, respectful and fun the whole time. I just want to thank her for helping me face my fears, and giving my children a time of their lives. And also the team Julie, Tiberius, Randolph, Najeellah, Herb, Dmarley, Dexter, Bryant I want to say thanks to them as well they all was so helpful.
