Update: So after staying away for a year or so, I needed an emergency appointment, and they were able to see me right away. I was hesitant but went in. Firstly, Martha is no longer there! Her replacement is much more pleasant and personable. Second, in-house doctors are back. I had a great experience and even took my young daughter there. The staff still remembers me 😂 Original post: 3 star review I have been going to this location since 2019 maybe even since they opened. The doctors have always been attentive, and my experience has always been fair. The sales reps do what sales reps do best, but I know what I want, and saying no has never been an issue. Everything has always been professional until today... First of all, there is no in-house doctor. Data is collected by a technician, who was pleasant, knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions. The exam was conducted remotely by a doctor...super cool and high tech But the whole atmosphere changed when the store manager, who was very unprofessional starts yelling at the receptionist, not once but twice about writing her up if she doesn't do the appointments right (in Spanish) in front of customers and co-workers. I got the sense that this was not the first time. I felt so embarrassed for the young lady. I mentioned to the manager that perhaps she should have pulled the young lady to her office which is nicely slammed the door to so she wouldn't hear my commentary after telling me I cannot tell her how to run HER business, lol. Reprimanding your employees is one thing, but yelling at them like they are your children in front of customers is highly unprofessional and to take offense to making customers feel uncomfortable is ironic. Not everyone is meant to be a "people manager" and Martha is definitely not it. Needless to say, I paid my co-pay took my prescriptions for both glasses and contacts and left. I will not be going back and neither will my husband. I have a choice in where I spend my money. I know most people wouldn't think anything of it but the way you treat your employees makes a difference in how they treat the customers....
Read moreIf this (Bx location & Mgmt) is one of 'America's Best' --think I would rather bump into things! Despite having Insurance, and a 6wk. wait for my Opthalmologist app't. and better specs; -- I (needed) /opted for a quicker out-of-pocket purchase with this "McGlasses" place. --and their basic 2pair with Optometrist exam special... Experiencing a vision issue and chronic Eye irritation for the 1st time, there was some urgency... I have no issue with Dr. Kim. (Prof. & pleasant as he was 2 years earlier) He stressed the need for Reading glasses too, and an Rx drop to be sent my pharmacy (by staff) Well it took me an hour to choose 2 frames from their unappealing basic selection ($60. price bump if you pick ONE (cheap too) frame priced $10. more)!? Huh?
Forgot my Crd-Cards; Debit wasn't going thru... Said I'd Call in my card # -- and did 36 hours later... On hold 20 mins. when Mgr. Loyris got on to tell me they "Lost the Order / Never entered in computer?? --Would have to start fr. scratch".! Blamed it on my pay delay •
TRIED to tell her I didn't have the time; really needed the Rx drops; -They needed to retrace; speak to the clerk who wrote it up. Fix This! She would NOT let me get a word in edgewise • Never conceded their mistake -OR apologized; Rude! Nothing more infuriating when it's entirely the screw-up of America's Best...I was rude right back.
-Total incompetence. Two hours wasted. Again! (Their fault: A major mix-up, delay and added trip back in 2019)
Let alone, ANY decent biz would begin processing the order; Call in the Rx. --for a REPEAT Customer; --We're to talking $70--$80 bucks total. Then Ms Manager insisted I pay Anyway! --Forget the weeks of continued discomfort; -Not having the new vision Rx to fill at a reputable store.. -Hence, this well earned Shty review. Fat chance you will see a dime lady --OR Me in the future. "You get what you Pay for" -or...
Read moreI just went there to see If i could get contacts. 1st day I just walked in and one of the people in the front desk a lady very rudely told me you think you can just walk in ? You need an appointment! i decided to ignore her tone and apologize and said it's ok i didnt know , can i make an appointment then she proceed to book my appointment, i end up having the appointment for the next day morning a Saturday. I asked what type of insurance do they take so i know If they work with mine ,she rudely replied ,that signs there says what we accept, I say I dont see mine there but I have this ensure with emblem health, she looks at me and told me to come for the appointment and we will check then, I felt she was bothered so i left. When i came back for my appointment they were so bothered still and not helpful or attentive at all. They didnt work with my insurance and since this is the second time I'm visiting I just dont want to be back and forth and asked ,if I want to pay out of pocket how much will it be for the eye exam for contacts and the contacts ? Now the guy in the front desk so apparently bothered too replied , I dont know, I can't tell you and that was the answer to the next 5 questions I asked. My friend got upset and asked them " so what exactly do you know so we know something?" She was trying to get glasses, and they worked with her insurance and because of their bad customer service she changed her mind,I really tried to stay calm but I have worked in customer service before and this is not how you treat customers, their attitude were horrible and didn't try to help. I was trying to spend money on this business and apparently they just didn't care. Definitely...
