Read moreBy far this is one of my favorite local parks of the Manhattan Beach / Brighton Beach Shoreline. The space is perfect for anyone and everyone who wishes to be outside and enjoy the weather. The playground was recently restructured and revived into the perfect habitat with swings for the little ones and swings for the bigger children through to adults. There's an entire area Dedicated To Toddlers and babies in the middle of there is a wonderful Water sprinkler area that only works in the summertime, sometimes the beach itself which is literally across the street from this park, gets very windy meanwhile the moment you step off the boardwalk everywhere else is relatively beautiful weather. And that's why the water park for the kids is ideal for summertime. There is a gigantic Arena safe for little ones to run around. It's safe before people to let their dogs off their leashes, of course, do so at your discretion nobody knows your dog better than you. We also have this incredible stage that is 99.9% of the time unused! Honestly, it is surprising to me because I think as a community we could get together and employ some marvelous concerts where the only thing we would need are the people who wish to participate in collaborating. There are many trees to catch some shade and cool off from the Sun equally there is much space in the sun to lay on a picnic blanket and catch a tan. Fly a flying kite. Roller skates, rollerblades, skateboarding(no ramps), and my personal favorite, bicycling, are all permitted and have a smooth concrete road along the outskirts of the park. 😀 the newest addition to our beloved Park is the☆☆☆☆☆ gym Zone ☆☆☆☆☆newly installed equipment for balancing and working out, grounding and centering the core muscles. There are even upper body muscle work-out stations that are specifically designed for wheelchairs. This gym is available. It's of no charge. And it's still in the growing process, expanding to offer pristine equipment to help all people. I 🌹 feel joy and gratitude for this sort of expansion in the hopes of bringing people together, strengthening our community for the safety and all around benefits of "community" isn't it all for the kids?=]:)as a mother, I say yes. As a woman I say we are all children of our parents. And as a parent I say we are all children of our planet. I hope you find your time here as happy as our family...
it's my favorite park in the neighborhood 😍 A) everyone : adults, kids, babies, pets and everything: strollers, bikes, scooters, pogo sticks, big wheels, IT ALL FITS =] That is the best part of all, there is no room for complaining, and that's about it. Everything else is the fantastic spacious plenty of nature plenty to do baby area. On one side of the park in the middle water fountain sprinklers that are on in the summer. Next up,we have the big boy and girl jungle gym / stealth mode area attached to the jungle gym, a wonderful setup all around, aIso swings for babies ( in the baby area )& for the bigger boys and girls in the bigger boys & girls area. The playground Sits closer to west 5th while a delicious array of nature circles around the entire park itself. The bathrooms are open all year round. The water is filtered . Over the course of summer (2023.) The newest edition is the gym /workout station designed for adults to tone the body. This is located on the side of surf ave, and it's fantastically enjoyable.
There's a gigantic stage ( with available access ) that is directly facing the beautiful huge field of grass. Variety of trees. many new ones recently planted. Some others look ancient as they are widespread at the trunk and reach up like skyscrapers to the stars. 🌳 provide plenty of shade during the hot summer days. Many people will simply picnic beneath the shade, including myself = ) of course, there are benches ( inside the playground area and all around the park ) as well. People walk their dogs , children can run free and enjoy a field grass aka planet earth's...
Read moreGood place. Nothing crazy special about it, but good. It has all sorts of different trees, some were even brought from World Trade Center site. It has a lot of benches, tables for chess games, playground for kids and even a small area for workouts. There some bird houses there and lots of squirrels. It has an interesting history too: The park was originally known as Seaside Park, and was one of the earliest beach resorts in Coney Island. It was opened in 1875, and quickly became a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The park featured a variety of attractions, including a bandshell, a carousel, a roller coaster, and a swimming pool. In the early 1900s, Asser Levy Park began to decline in popularity. The park's attractions became outdated, and the neighborhood around it began to deteriorate. In the 1960s, the park was closed for a time due to safety concerns. In the 1970s, the city began to revitalize Asser Levy Park. The park was renovated, and new attractions were added, including a playground, a basketball court, and a handball court. The park was also renamed after Asser Levy, a Dutch-Jewish merchant who was one of the first Jewish settlers in...
