This place doesnt even cover half of everything it mentions. First of all, Scuba diving. Instead of them going your your own set to use and keep which they said was in the price of the whole camp. We stayed for 5 weeks and we went Scuba diving ONCE. Its was in a 4 foot deep pool. Second, you should send your child here if you want them to sit in a room with not much to do the majority of the day. This is the actual schedule: You come in the morning, sit around for about an hour. Then you eat breakfast and go back inside for another 45 to 60 minutes. After that you get ready for the pool and walk to it. You spend about 1 to 1 and a half hours there. Then you walk back, wait and hour to hour and half. Eat lunch, Then sit for another 30 minutes. Lastly, you do another activity for 1 to 2 hours and go home or wait longer. You do two activities a day. One time a pool and the other a activity that the counselors pick for you to do. When we do sit around, the bring out about 3 board games that only can have 3 people playing them so most people have nothing to do. The third reason that you shouldn't go is that camp maritime doesnt own its building. So people come in all the time that do not have anything to do with the camp. I think this is very unsafe as ANYONE can come in. There is also lots of bullying there, and if you tell a conselor, they do not care at all and do absolutely nothing. The most they would do is tell them to stop and that's it. Within five minutes the bullying starts again and the whole process repeats. I also noticed that the lifeguards are on their phones constantly looking up at the pool every 5 minutes. I really do not think this camp is good because of the hours that we sit around with not many things to do, bullying, public spaces, incorrect statements about all their activities, not caring staff, and...
Read moreI couldn’t have asked for a better summer camp experience for my 6-year-old daughter! She absolutely loved every moment at this water sports camp. The way Camp Maritime seamlessly combined fun with learning was amazing—my daughter came home every day not only talking about the fun she had but also sharing all the fascinating things she learned about the ocean.
The hands-on experience with windsurfing, fishing, and kiting was beyond what we expected for her age. Already after one day of windsurfing she was confident to stand on the surfing board and surf short distances. Jeff, Humid and other instructors made sure that she was safe in water at all times. She also loved kiting, she was fascinated to learn the physics of wind taught to her in a simple to understand way for her age. She taught me things that I didn’t know :)
Camp also had transportation which was amazing for me as a working parent. This was a huge plus. Thank you Camp Maritime team for offering this service!
The camp director Elliot is very responsive and professional. He makes sure all parents are in the loop if there are weather changes or other updates. I really appreciated the communication with the staff and the director.
Camp Maritime gave my daughter memories, skills, and a love for the ocean that will last a lifetime. I can’t thank the team enough and highly recommend it to any parents looking for an unforgettable summer experience...
Read moreThis is my son’s second year at Camp. The experience and teaching staff itself are great. However, do not expect any accommodations once you finalize your payment. Although busing is said to be provided on their website and weekly emails, that does not seem to be the case UNLESS you get written confirmation from Elliot (the owner). Elliot will not follow up with any of your requests, and he will immediately communicate defensively, offensively, and in a combative manner (i.e. Wait for his response after this review).
Update to response: Hi Elliot,
You asked for honest reviews, so I hoped you would have been honest with your full response as well. At no point did we ever ask to have any students taken off your bus, and I told you we would be changing our work schedules around in order to bring Nicholas to camp. In fact, we even changed our summer camp 2023 schedule when it has started FOR YOU when you told us there was no bussing during certain weeks of camp then.
Nothing is free as you so casually and blatantly say. Will you be crediting/refunding our union dues and fees that we paid directly in order to pay for your camp?
But as you say, “business is business,” and we all know what that means. Thank you for making me stop to your level in making...
