I am deeply upset and disappointed with my recent experience at PEP Bakery. I have been a loyal customer since their opening, making it a weekly ritual to visit with my husband, enjoying matcha and baked goods as we plan our week. Despite overlooking the unfriendly baristas and the reduction in portion sizes despite price increases, this latest visit was a breaking point. Last weekend, after a 20-minute trip to the bakery at Seabreeze location, I was informed that I could not choose my eclair. Instead, they serve eclairs in a strict order: first, the day before yesterday's eclairs, then yesterdayâs, and only then todayâs (they have special IPad with order of serving). This means that if I arrive early, I am getting eclairs from two days ago, and if Iâm lucky, those from yesterday. To top it off, the first two eclairs were half the size of what I expected. Due to LAW Customers have the right to choose their items and expect to be served fresh, high-quality products, especially at a bakery!!! This policy not only ruined my day but also disrupted my cherished weekend ritual. Itâs incredibly disappointing and unfair to treat loyal customers this way. Given this experience, I am seriously reconsidering whether I will return to PEP Bakery, and I am doubtful that I will continue to recommend it to my friends. This level of service is simply...
Read moreNice, spacious cafe around Coney Island. Didnât know there was something like this around this area. Went on a Saturday around 2pm and there were lots of open seats (not many people there).
My friend and I got the Raspberry Gelato ($1.99 for a cup) although it wasnât fully filled, but still pretty cheap. We also got an Iced Matcha Latte and a regular Iced Latte. We had expected these would be sweetened, but turns out theyâre not, but there are sugar packets you can find in a certain section. My friend felt the Iced Matcha Latte was too sandy (matcha didnât melt well into the latte). The Iced Latte was normal.
Mainly liked the atmosphere and setup of the cafe since it was a a nice place to just sit and chat. Also very well air-conditioned to the point where I was starting to sniffle a little...
Read moreI usually love coming to this coffee shop, but today was a huge disappointment. My grandma and I were enjoying a peaceful coffee by the window bar when a window cleaner started working on the indoor windows right next to us. He didnât bother to apologize or even acknowledge that he was disrupting our time. No âexcuse me,â no âthank you,â just completely inconsiderate behavior. He said lemme wash the windows and rushed us to get up and move. I have no problem with moving out, but my 84 yo grandma had to quickly move out as well....
Itâs really frustrating when a place you enjoy doesnât train its staff to respect customers. I hope management takes this seriously because a little courtesy goes a long way....
