Basil Behagen Playground — Attraction in New York

Best park in the neighborhood. I wouldn't say that's it's a "nice" park but they have a very serviceable baseball field and a decent turf like fenced in field that can be used for football or soccer. The basketball court is pretty dope with the stadium style stone seating and sunken in court design.

Benches/tables are pretty standard. Just be mindful that the homeless are sometimes found sleeping on the benches early in the morning and people love to smoke and drink in the park.

I would love to see New York Goverment parks department put a little funding towards. This is the best park in the area for athletic activities for teens and young adults such as soccer, basketball, running track, softball and playgrounds for children, plenty of places to rest including picnic tables for families or larger groups, chess tables and many benches all throughout park. There is also a clean & working 🚻 restroom! All this park needs is a small dog park. The south east and Central Bronx desperatly needs one. This park use an update the baseball is a disgrace. There are no seats if you want to watch a game. Other middle and upper class do not sit like this. The only this was upgraded was the basketball court and soccer field. Why not the baseball field In other neighbors everything is completed.
